spring on ashtray assembly
So I think I've heard of this being common, but the spring that spring loads the door flap thing.
Well, mine fell out, and I don't know where it goes back in at. So can anyone tell me?

On the right side if you are looking at it from the front, there are two little holes, one on the lid and one on the base. The bent tips of the spring go in these holes. Just try lining it up and you should be able to tell which way it goes.
Mine actually broke off, so I had to drill a new hole in a location close enough to the old one that the spring still worked.
It took me a few minutes to get it in but what I found worked was holding one end of the spring with needle nose pliers, putting the other end in first and then pushing it toward the other hole and lining it up, let it catch, and then push it in all the way.
I wish I'd taken pictures, but I didn't. If I feel like taking my center console apart again soon, I'll take some for you.

Thanks for the tip. I drilled a hole and inserted the spring. Works perfectly!
