Steering Wheel Restoration
I have an '04 model with the red and black leather wrapped steering wheel. Well after 10 years, the red parts are pretty well worn. The color is more pink than red, and there is some ingrained dirt. Every time I clean the wheel, the red die comes off. I don't want to take it in to get everything rewrapped, because the stitching is holding together well. I'm wondering if I can just repaint the thing, and then seal it so that the color won't come off whenever I clean it. Are there any specialty paints that grip well to leather?

You can't just simply "paint" over leather. There is a process of prepping the hide, re-dye it, and protecting it with a coat.
