Well i'm looking to buy an RX8 in the next few months, and I am into car audio a little bit.
My Skyline currently has Fusion 6.5 co-axials up front, Pioneer DEH9650I ipod head unit, NBN amp, Fusion 12" PP sub.
But looking at the RX8's factory system, Bose 9 speaker system, it looks good as is.
How woul you guys rank it?
As it has 9 speakers, I dont wana be replacing each one, but I also dont wana replace just a couple, example DLS components at the front, and the rest 7 speakers factory.. It would be out of balance if you get what I mean?
How is the factory sub.
I have on my bedroom floor, DLS UP6 6.5 components and an eaudio 1000D amplifier (1000rms mono), so will put them into the 8 along with a nice sub and another amp (eudio 480) for the DLS speakers.
Can the factory head unit be replaced, if not.. Does it support mp3 or ipod.
Thanks for any tips and help

my advice... bose sucks.
when i got my rx8 it was the first ever car I got to pick out, customize, and pay for, so i went top of the line and got the bose thinking its great. if you have never heard any other system in your life it would sound alrigiht. but after about 6 months i ripped out all the bose **** and did a custom system. Boston acoustic 6.5" component system up front, boston acoustic 6X9's in the rear, 6XS LOC, and pushed by a alpine amp. Its like night and day.
Save the money and dont get a bose system, built it yourself and get WAYYY better.

I too was super excited about having a Bose system in my RX-8. After a while, I became very displeased with it.
-The lows are non-existent
-The rear speakers are pretty bad. Unless you're sitting in the back, you wouldn't know there were 6x9's AND tweeters back there.
Long story short, I ended up upgrading the Bose and have never looked back!
Here's the thread for my "upgraded" Bose System (it could probably use a friendly bump)

Sweet. Well I don't use rear speakers. In all my car installs, i've had the Fader set to 90% front. Unless I have passengers ofcourse.
Do they have 6x9s standard? Yuck, they gota go.

you cant add an amp to the bose system
every speaker has its own amp
it's so much better to take all the bose out and get a dash kit and new head unit and it'll be incomparable.

I was amazed at the difference I have now that I have replaced my Bose system. You think the Bose is ok, until you hear an aftermarket system... HUGE difference...
You know what they say...
No Highs, No Lows..... Must be a Bose....
