Stock Tweeters

2 months ago i replaced the stock speakers with:

TS-A6990R
TS-D680R

But i left the stock tweeters intact. Im starting to think that its taking away from the overall sound and im thinking of taking them out and letting the pioneers take care of the highs by itself. Is this a good or bad idea?

edit: not the bose tweeters, the ones that come with the 100 watt stock system

You may lose some midrange. This is a question best answered by Rotarygod, Mr.Wiggles, or Doctorr.

Try it first and listen. You can hook them up again if you like the sound better with.

100w speakers.

So being a bit of a hip hop fan myself, I gather the pioneer speaker swap was worth the effort and cash. How much better was the sound? As I have kids and don't need to install extra amps etc as I will bust their ear drums.

Can a simple "non tech" man c/over the speakers and did you keep the factory grill etc. Ie did they just bolt in?

If you like independant radio, I might send you an address for a local one you can get on the web. It might impress.

I see you went to my site , the pioneer swap was worth it. The stock speakers are garbage but i wonder if i couldve done better with another brand..these speakers are relatively inexpensive if you do the installasion yourself, i had a shop do it for me..the sound is really no comparison when you compare it to the stock systems obviously. If you can do the install yourself by asking around over here its worth it. installing an extra amp will make things sound alot better but thats up to you. adding one small sub to handle the bass is also a good idea. we did keep the factory grill, they fit perfectly..

std speakers.

Cheers, i will give it a go.

if you like independant, try

www.rrr.org.au

Has a mix of everything but it is not commercial and it streams well. Allow for the time difference and midnight stuff ( like it is now down here now) can get weird.
