strange mp3 player behavior
Hey!
all of the sudden - my mp3 player doesn't seem to work properly..I'm wonder if anybody else has had this problem. I just did a search and didn't find any info.
Ive tried about 5-6 mp3 cds -- most of which worked before.
The buttons that normally advance songs from steering wheel -- and from stereo don't do anything -- they meerly start the first song playing again. However - the seek button advances CD1 to CD2, CD3, CD4 as if I have a cd changer (which i dont -- all i did was install the mp3 player)! and then i can change songs using that button - but very very slowly... It doesn't seem to make any sense. Somtimes it works - but most of the time it doesn't
It worked great for a few months - and out of nowhere this started to happen.
Anybody else heard of this?
Jon

Doesn't sound right. Did you try cleaning the head? Also, I noticed if I burn cds at higher speeds, it has a hard time reading them consistently. I now burn at 8x and they all work no probs.

They may work at first at 24x but it is more sensitive to dirt/scratches etc. I know it kind of sucks because we have all this speed but can't use it in our cars. I find that they do work well at home mp3 players especially on the computer.

Try burning your MP3s at a lower sampling rate like 120 kbps or less. If recorded at a faster rate some units may not be able to read the disk.
