Question Sub and amp recommendations?

I'm looking into having subwoofer(s) and an amp to my 8 (I have Bose). And since I'm not a car audiophile I'd like to get some imput from you guys as to what brand of subwoofers and amps (model numbers if you have 'em) for my ride. Thanks!

Do some searching and reading on this forum and others. There are many opinions and recommendations available. I'm certainly no expert but it seems lots of people on this forum like the JL Audio subs and amps. I've had good luck with Precision Power and Alpine amps. I'm currently using an Alpine amp that is almost 10 years old. What type of music do you listen to and how loud do you like to listen to it? Based on your answers to the last two questions, someone here should be able to give you a good recommendation, but I think you're pretty safe with any of the top major brands.

I'm using an Alpine amp as well, along with kicker subs. Here's a link to my system: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...threadid=25399

From: AL/GA...you pick
(you could get away with 1 but..)2 JL Audio 10W3 with a vr600d Crossfire amp...that'll be more than plenty...

and it will be nice CLEAN bass...not your earth pounding ghetto rattling crap...

or a costly solution but great one...

1 Image Dynamics 10 D4 V.3 powered by a Soundstream EGA1400D amp...that's what i'd do...

I went the economy route with an Alpine mono-block 350W and 2 10" alpine subs in a custom box. Sounds great and fills in the needed missing lows (IMHO). Check out my sub box build thread in the link below my sig for details...

With a well designed box, it should still be quite effective. It's not going to be the kind of bass that you hear a block away- but more than adequate for supplementing the Bose system. I was surprised that my very small box was able to go as loud as it does. The same size box I built could very well be just as loud.

Look into a JBL bp600.1 (about $200 from ikesound) and an adire audio shiva 12" ($125).

put the shiva in about 1.0 cubes sealed...
