sub install issue

installed a pair of 10" kicker comps in my rx8. they are hooked up to a pioneer 760watt amp; i tapped into the rear speakers and ran them to the amp through a scosche hi-lo converter. they sound fine and hit hard however i noticed that when i shift the balance and fade to the rear speakers either the right or left that sub hits much harder and louder. Am i getting an uneven power current somehow???
my guess would be to pick a different location to splice into the factory speakers for a signal, also i have stock head unit and bose system. any advice is appreciated

You're tapping into the signal being sent to the rear speakers...

Sounds normal to me.
