I've done several searches and cant really find the answer I'm looking for. So forgive me if I'm reiterating something that someone has already asked.
I want to put a sub and amp in my RX8 but I want to do it without changing the head unit. I actually like the head unit in the RX8. I have the Bose System so I don't know if that will help with any answers. My main question is can I have the Sub and AMP installed with the stock system and it work fine? I know a friend that has an Lincoln LS and they did it with his stock system. His works great.
Thanks ~CAS

RX8 and a Truk....
I've got two JL audio 10s, Cliff Designs subs, and Zapco amp in my car - running off line-lever converters. Works fantastic. ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I have the base stereo - was no problem at all...Course, with the bose system I hear it's MUCH harder.

Waiting for "do a search" posts...I installed my subs and amp using line-level converters also. If you want to close this thread and go to the -Maryland people- thread I can help you.

Well--its pretty straight forward to add just a sub and amp to a BOSE system--I did that with my Millenia S; its when you get to trying to change speakers and all that Bose gets in the way. I think 98% of us with custom sound in our RX8s are running the stock head unit for obvious reasons. It'll sound great; don't worry. All you will need is some type of line converter.

One problem I see (even knowing a little about car audio) is there is too much conflicting information in too many places. For most issues it is hard to decide what the final or correct post is. I think this contributes to a lot of the same questions being asked over & over.

To help this out, I just recently got done installing a stereo in my wife's RX-8 with the Bose system. I tapped off the rear speaker outputs off the Bose amp, used a line-level convertor and hooked up an Arc Audio amp, Focal speakers in all four corners and an Arc Audio 10" sub. It sounds great and definitely improved over the stock Bose setup.
