Subwoofer Volume problems?

Subwoofer Volume problems?
I finally finished my custom trun encloser and im thrilled with the results. I will take pics very soon
But i ran into a small problem...
My sub just isnt loud enough. I turned the gain up and i checked all my connections. But the sub just isnt hitting as hard as it did in my last car. I have it hooked up through the navone rca adapter. What would cause this problem?
Weak ground?
Weak signal?
Can someone please gimme an idea of what to check?
Thanks

my old box was a little larger than a cubic square foot
my new box is
I found the dimensions online.
14-5/8" H x 14-5/8" W x 11-5/16" D
with a curved plexiglass back.
I used a new amp i went from an old mtx 2300 to this....

But i dont think the amp is the problem because this one is just as powerfull.
The subwoofer is a 12 inch Eclips Sub. One of their older models.

If you have access to a multimeter, i'd test the voltage of the signal running to your amp to see if you have a good signal from the source. If you had a bad ground, your amp would most likely not operate, so I would rule that out, but I would still measure the resistence there to see what you have. There is a sticky thread about good grounds in the 8. As for you enclosure, I would check the specs from eclipse to see what an optimal enclosure size is. Some people just stick subs in any size box which can really take away from your subs optimal performance if the box is the wrong size.

In your old system, did you have a aftermarket cd player with a rca type outout or subwoofer output? Chances are that the LOC you are using is a big culprit here as a basic LOC will not do what a cd player can with a sub out and level control.
Eclipse subs, old models and new prefer a sealed box from .75 - 1.25 cubic feet before a noticeable difference in tonal response can be heard. To me this sounds much like the wrong interface used and expecting it to be like it was once before.

This is what i suspect as well. The box is about the same size as my old box and it is sealed so i dont expect too much loss there. My old system was RCA's to the back of an aftermarket headunit.
Im using the navone and tapping the rear speakers on this install. What else can i do? Im going to try hooking up my ipod directly to the amp input to see is thats the culprit.

If you have the Blows system, you want the 6XS (includes bass remote level control). If you have the non Blows system, use the LC6 (add the bass remote level control). What it sells for in the US is far from what it sells for here in the Great White North. It would be improper of me to guess at what it sells for in US funds. I push it because I know firsthand the limitations of a basic LOC and the capabilities of a proper LOC. The basic LOC or advanced LOC will make or break whatever is installed after it.
