TEXT on Radio/CD?
Hello All, hope everyone is having fun driving their 8 on these wonderfull days of summer.
I have a question, on the GT sterio there is a **** to the far right that says text. Is that to show titles of CD or Radio songs while they are playing?
If so, can someone tell me how to do this, I tried to follow the directions but could not figure it out.
Thanks for your help!
Doug

Yes, it will display CD Text and track information, but only if you have the Mazda 6-DISC CD player or Mazda MP3 CD player installed.
But don't worry. You're not missing a whole lot. It doesn't auto scroll the information for you..you have to actually turn the nozzle to move the text back and forward. One of the disappointments about it.

Ive tried that before, never had text show up.
When you say MP3 CD do u mean a cd with mp3 data tracks on it that needs to be read by the CD/MP3 version of the cd player.. or do you mean a regular audio CD burned at home from mp3 origin?
ive got the 6disc so it will not read mp3 data unless its burned into audio CD format

I'm not really sure.. I think some CD you buy from the store will show text if they have it (alot don't)
All I know for sure is that I have the MP3 cd player and if I make a MP3 CD with mp3 data tracks i can hit the disp button and it will show me a variety of things (track, time, disk name, filename, song name ect..)

i use the display and text button all the time but i listen primarily to sirius (factory installed)...I will have to check tomorrow regarding the cds and fm
but i think only regular store bought cds work..not burned ones

So to clarify...
The basic CD player is not equal to the MP3 CD player... which is not equal to the 6-disc In-dash changer?
Kinda odd that the 6-disc changer can't play MP3 CD's... thought something that advanced would be able to do something like that without even giving it a second thought?

$450.00? Are you serious? That's disgusting...
I can go down to BestBuy and get the cheapest of the cheap iPod FM transmitter unit for around $30.00!
Might not be crystal clear audio, but at least it's music.

Which is why I went and ordered an Axxess box for my iPod for $120. Go check out the two dealers in the Vendor section and check their prices, they are a little lower but they are not installed.
