thought about subwoofer placment...

well...in the future i plan to get a decent sound system...just enough to give a bit of bass, im not interested in 2 12 inch subs or anything that serious...but when looking into my back seat i suddenly realized that a sub may be able to fit in that compartment inbetween the two back seats....that is if that space is big enough to have a small sub in it...possibly a square sub, i dono i just thought it would be cool to have an exposed sub in the cab of the car. this is just a thought i had...i dont know if its possible, or has ever been done. the gap is 9.5 inches wide...is that big enough for a box and super tiny sub? maybe multiple tiny subs???

Yes you can and I'm building one right now. Let me know if you want to measurement's. I have a Kenwood system that consist of, 2 tweeters 2, 5 .25" 2, 6 X 9"s and 2, 12"s with a 400 amp.

lol I was thinking of the space in the trunk behind the seats. Thats where my box witht the 2 12"s and amp will be.
I would not put any speaker in the spot that your talking about. If someone can see it they might want it.

I wonder if the plastic cover would fit over that sub box. If it does you could cut a hole in the cover and mount a flexible grille to it.

you can do 2: 13 WS focal 5" subs in a custom fiberglass ported enclosure between the rear seats, powered by a JL Audio 300/2 or a 250/1. that will give you the cleanest bass for the 8 and give you the most trunk space. the only drawback to this set-up is that the subs are $600 a pop and the amps start at $300. But then again if you want the best... this would be a close first.

If your looking for the cheap way out with the most bass let me know. I've got a 4th order type box that will rip your face off.

Looks good... but that plv-7 isn't a sub... it's just a bunch of spinning motors. not the same sound.

i am getting my 10" p2 punch put through the spot between the two back seats but because the width is only 9.5 they are putting it in backwards....so the back of the sub will stick out into the car... im getting the amp mounted where the trunk sinks down and then having that part plexy glassed and some neon should look sweet will post pics asap..... only $400 with the instal included

Uh...spinning motors? Do tell. Here's my install thread. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/alpine-plv-7-install-123901/

i apologize. it isn't a bunch of motors, they do use cones. it is a little different then alpines last design. but it's still basicly a bunch of alpine little bass shakers stacked together. now don't get me wrong... i think they sound great. i've installed quite a few, and all of my customers have been happy with them. but they're still not a real sub. it's a subwoofer alternative, and ideal for saving space and still getting big sound.

Oh, I know. I've been doing audio installs for 20 years. I've had custom bandpass enclosures, sealed boxes, 8's, 10's 12's, 15's, Bazooka Tubes, etc. For the size of the Alpine PLV-7, it really pumps out nice clean bass. A perfect match for the BOSE system.

Sound deadening, looks like the stuff I use eDead. Or you can buy off the shelf Dynomat but it's overpriced.

Rmagic, do you have covers for those? Seems like a small amount of volume for 2 woofers in a sealed enclosure. Looks great though!
