Turbo Timer?

Turbo Timer?
I was just wonder if anyone has, or thought about, installing a turbo timer in thr RX-8? I am only asking this because of some of the stories I hear about flooding. If a turbo timer was installed, with say a 2 minute run time, flooding would not be an issue. Any thoughts?

The flooding issue wouldn't change. The problem is the fact that the highly shrouded, lower intensity trailing spark plugs are trying to ignite the mixture at startup rather than the much more intense leading spark plugs. This was always how it was done in the past. As with a hotter spark plug, a turbo timer is also a bandaid for those who drive short distances.
If people would just get in the car and try to start it with the gas pedal all the way to the floor, it would flood less often. Let the engine spin over a couple of times and then take your foot off of the pedal. I did the in Mr. Wigggles car when I stalled it immediately after it had been sitting and it started with my foot all the way down! This tells me that there was plenty of fuel left in the engine. Obviously enough to get it started. Had I have not done this, the engine would have received more fuel and the possibility of flooding would have been much higher. When it started I immediately took my foot off of the gas and it kept running. This method is much cheaper and easier than a turbo timer or a tow truck trip to the dealer. I do have a way to still get them started even if they do flood. So there is almost no excuse for a towtruck trip period.
