Turned alarm off?

Last weekend after I tried to arm my alarm after I drove home and it wouldn't arm anymore. I saw the lights flash and heard teh doors lock with the first push of the button. The second time I hit the button nothing happens, the lights didn't even flash again. Did I some how disable or turn off the alarm? I tried searching for this problem but didn't see anyone with the same situation.

The lights only flash the first time you lock the car with the fob. Once you see that, it means the car is armed. If you want to be sure, press the lock button twice within about two seconds and your horn will beep to confirm the locked/armed status.

It used to do that, but now when I hit the button the second time the horn doesn't beep. How can I check to see if the alarm is still armed?

Roll down the windows before hand, lock the car, then reach through the window and open the door from the inside.

Crisis, have you confirmed that your trunk lid is fully closed?

No, but I have open and closed it many times in the past week and even today when I went to lunch when I get out and close the doors, the second time I hit the lock button nothing happens. I have confirmed that one put of the button will lock the doors, and the lights flash, but and thing after that and nothing happens. The lights don't even flash again.

Is it possible I have suicide door that isn't fully closed or something? I'll check that all the doors are tightly closed when I leave for work and see if that works. Is it also possible that the shock sensor could have some how messed-up arming the alarm?

Ahh, you now mention that you have the shock sensor. If your doors are not tightly closed, your "Door Ajar" light should be on indicating so. Since you aren't getting this indicator light, I would check that your sensitivity level on you shock sensor isn't set too high or that you don't have a mis-wiring on your sensor hook-up. If you haven't already found the following link in your previous searches, maybe this will be of some help.

Question

I have a new VR with a little over 2000 miles on it and noticed this morning that when I push the button to lock/arm the car, my park lights don't flash anymore. If I push the button twice my horn still sounds but no flash of the lights. I tried it more than a few times and still the same results.

I imagine that this is a problem?

Thanks,
CajunTexan8

Thanks to everyone who tried to help me figure this out. I took the car in this morning and it turns out my horn is busted. The alarm works fine, but since the horn is now broken I assumed it wasn't arming. It just happened that I didn't need to honk at anyone in the past few days or I would have noticed sooner. I'm not sure how this happened, but they have ordered me a new horn and it is all covered unwarranty. Kinda weird though.

Thanks for the update crisis. It's always the simplest answer, huh?

Hey CajunTexan - close your hood and trunk and try again.
