Ugh.. Another question... Major Engine Noise

OK, as most of you have read my other post, I am puttin a sound system in the 8. As it stands right now. I have MAJOR noise coming thru. There is a high pitch sound that come from the intake manifold.. i believe... well that high pitch sound comes thru all my interior speakers. I have moved grounds twice. Now it is grounded to the bolt under the tool kit in the trunk... I need some hellp!! haha Thanks again in advance.

I first had it on the cig lighter in the center console. I then used a constant 12v right off the distribution block as the remote and I still had the same issues....

Edit. The remote goes into the LC8 and then out to the amps.

yeah this is a common problem.. i had it REALLY bad too.. i just went up to radioshack and got some "ground loop isolators" they just plug in line of your RCA between your LOC and your amps... i never could find the actual problem, i even ran a new power and ground to my HU from my dist block in my trunk and it didn't help..

if you still get some noise after you install those then your amps are gaining to much, turn down your amps and turn up your LOC output.

The LC8 probably has a ground selection jumper inside. I know moving the one on my 6XS to the highest resistance helped some. (Check the instructions. I know it has to be powered down and I can't remember if the B+ has to be completely removed or not before moving jumper.)

I had an old RF amp that was the cause of a lot of engine noise. I temporarily installed my brothers newer RF amp, I had no engine noise until I integrated the factory Bose amp to run some tweeters. Since this is temporary, I used a PAC GLI that fixed it right up. Actually I had a little engine noise in the tweeters before I added anything to the stock system.

You will probably have to use some muting plugs and a couple other tests to determine which component(s) is/are causing the noise. If this doesn't make sense to you, drop me a PM and I will explain a little more.

Well, I found out where the major noise was coming from.. F'in T-Taps... I ended up doing it the "right" way and soldering the wires. Now i have a very small amount of whine but nothing major. Thanks for everybody's help!
