using a momo mt **** on an auto

I have an automatic RX8 and the shift **** is really beat up so I want to replace it. I found a nice momo shift **** but I don't know the measurements of the automatic shift pole thing (not sure of the name It is threaded but I don't know the RX8's thread size and whether or not the momo manual shift **** will fit. The momo specs say that the insert is 60mm.

thanks!

dang I just found my answer to this question, does anyone know how to shorten the shaft? I guess it's been done before but I don't know what I would use to shorten it.
thanks again
