valentine one
I own a valentine one and was shown over the weekend of how you can wire your radar detector through the light in the visor over head. I gave it a try and it didn't work. Has anyone done this or anything like it so I don't need to plug into my cigarette lighter. Thanks

I used the same walkthrough. Mine has been working great for many months now. A word of advice though. There isin't much room up there to be cramming a ton of extra wire or hardwire equipment. It's also a little tough to get the forward part of the maplight/sunglass holder to secure back into place tight against the headliner. I kept working and eventually got it back perfect.

i did this 2 days ago.. took me all of 20 minutes.
i didn't have to undo the wiring behind the mirror.. all I did was to one of the 4 wires (that had acc power) going to the mini 4 pin plug that plugged into the overhead assembly and grounded to one of the above bolts.

I like my Escort 8500 x50.

In many reviews they have the x50 topping the Valentine 1 overall. The only thing the V1 has going for it is the directional arrows and I guess to a lesser extent the ability to remotely mount the display.

The V1 is top dog, but damned expensive. I bought the Bel RX65. Got nearly as high reviews and about half the price. Also, toss the suction cups and get a real mount.

Yes. Yes. The sunpass I know. It has since been moved under the dash, next to the center channel speaker.

Nothing beats the Valentine One in the under $500 radar detector category.

Valentine One has been caught advertising on the forum before. Just do a search and you will find a few registered users that only appear in valentine one threads.
Cops in Houston don't even use radar anymore. It's all laser. Luckily 90% of the time they sit in the same spots EVERYDAY, and they are still constantly writing tickets.

There is also a way shown in the link above that you can tap into the fuse box using an "add a fuse" - another easy way - all my wiring is hidden under the headliner, and I could take the whole thing out easily. Just an option. For the record, I have a Bel RX65 pro that I've had for over 3 years with no problems.
