Weird Navigation Issue

So I bought myself a used RX-8 this past monday, and I have been loving it. Trying to find any excuse to drive.

The car is a 04 gt 6spd with a navi. It looks like the previous owner had installed a ipod kit. Not sure which one it is. I want to replace it with a grom audio kit that allows for bluetooth and iphone/ipod charging. anyway i can figure that out?

One thing i did notice. When the navigation screen is open and i press the volume button (to switch off the radio) a weird screen appears. I am not sure what is supposed to appear on the navigation or show. Can anyone clarify? or translate?

Japanese spec RX-8's could be had with a television tuner kit (not usable in North America) that used the external CD / Sat radio port on the rear and output to the screen. Since you now have something plugged into that port, when you turn the radio off while the sat nav is running, you'll see this screen. If you're still navigating somewhere, just hit your position button and it will clear it.

Wargoose! you are awesome! thanks for the info.

In another note, is there anyway to figure out which ipod connector is already installed, without starting the install process of such a kit?
