NJ Who hates Skipping cd's?!?! // Ipod connection?

Ughgh .. The only downside to my amazingly awesome Rx-8 is that every street in NJ has potholes . lol.. My CD player is always skipping ..

From the start of purchasing this car ( last week), I have been wanting to purchase a i pod connection kit..

I have found one from Rockford Fosgate , its a direct installation for the Rx8 but its 210$$!!!!! ... If i was going to go for this, i'd rather just save for the 3Sixty.1 signal processor from them( which would come with the ability for ipods)...

Are there any other ones that can be used that are cheaper ... ( and also don't use the radio as means of connection ) ...

Most nice ipod connectors to factory stereo must be Firmwire v9.55 or higher excluding (10.21) or something. Mazda has there own but it doesnt have all the bells and whistles. Sounds like you have an 04, if so you better check. Search around and you'll find out how to access the firmwire.

Uh why? You afraid of removing it?

Wireless FM transmitter would be your solution. Cheap. Easy install. No work or brain required. And the sound output usually shows it.

So by "radio" you meant "FM tuner"? I gotcha.

Search the forum my man. Several options out there for us. I used the Audiolink before I went all aftermarket. Sound quality was flawless and my steering wheel controls still worked.

I have a Belkin that I can set to any frequency. It even broadcasts over most local radio stations. Best part was it was like $20 something.

I'll vouch for sonicelectronx too. They have a store setup on eBay that I've used several times. Always perfect transactions.
