This good enough? I discovered a 7 inch LCD fits perfectly in the stock ashtray location. I don't have the nav system, it's hooked up to my modified Xbox that I use as a media center/carputer

While the first nav setup isn't bad...I think it just leaves things looking too empty. Especially down toward the bottom. Maybe its just me. Also, because it's turned into all 1 piece, I'd be worried about flexing of the car, and thus possible cracking of the fiberglass. I made mine into 2 pieces for that exact reason. Also, I simply pushed my radio in behind the screen, further into the dash, rather than relocating it.

Here's some pics from mine.

no...they are rear flip-downs. The NAV is tied into using a NAV-2-TV unit. All displays are controled via an alpine system.

I used a T-View 7 inch 16:9 headrest monitor. I disassembled the screen to remove the panel from its case to make it fit in the confined space of the ashtray area (and to mount the buttons and IR receiver to the brushed aluminum shroud)

Seen here:

The LCD screen is held in simply by friction. The screen barely fits in there lengthwise, and you actually have to spread apart the sides of the ashtray area to get it in there.

the shroud is made of brushed aluminum sheetmetal, and mounts using the original screws holding the ashtray in, plus a couple on each side. The shroud does not hold the screen in, it just sits on top of it to finish out the opening, plus to mount the screen controls to.

Can see the buttons mounted here at the bottom:

thats sort of a useless place to mount it... cool.. but useless.. you can't really watch it down there while driving..

and yes.. if i got one... i'd use it while driving.. because i have hard time keeping awake on freeways.. its too soothing... need something to keep me entertained and active

sure thing

i just finished getting the audio hooked up today.

I finally got tired of waiting for the auxmod, plus the cost of it or the PIE adapter, so i just went ahead and did the CD player hack.

I have the changer so i dont mind having one cd of pure silence, all my music is on the hard drive of the xbox now (it's got a 100gb hard drive in it now do i dont see running out of room anytime soon)

With four goddamn screens in his car (definitely overkill in my book)...Devoid easily gets my vote.
