Wiring Diagram questions

For starters, I don't have a scanner, so if you don't have your own wiring diagram, I don't think you can help me.

Now, on with the show.

I am going to be installing some IceLED ZEN controllers in my car here in the new future, and I am trying to figure out the best way to wire them so that the LED tubes in the car turn on when the doors are opened, and the LEDs in the trunk turn on when the trunk is opened. I'll start with the doors.

On page 96 of the RX-8 Diagram, I see two wires going to the courtesy lights in the doors. Since these automatically turn on when the door opens, I figure that's a good place to tap in. There is a green/black wire going to the lights from the keyless entry module (I don't want to use this one, because I don't want the LEDs to come on whenever I unlock the car); I also see a L(avender?)/Red wire going to the courtesy light. I am assuming that this is the wire that applies power to the light when the door is opened, and that if I tap a wire off of this one to the LED controllers external trigger, then this will cause the controller to power up when the door is opened. Can anyone back me up on this?

Now for the trunk, which is on Page 90. The trunk compartment light has two wires going to it as well. It seems that the same L/Red wire mentioned above goes running into the trunk, and there is also a Brown wire running from the "Trunk Compartment Light Switch" to the light. I am assuming that if I want the power triggered by the trunk opening, then I would want to tap the Brown wire in this case. Again, any backup or contradictions on this?

If you read this far, thanks, and I look forward to any input.
