Wiring Question

I was looking at jenkins-crew's DIY on Custom Switches (excellent DIY btw) Moving on, I need some help here, I want to put my switches in the same place under the radio controls in the available plate. My question is, where should I get my power from? I will be using one of these switches for lighting, which will be my first project with the wiring. Anyone that can give me some ideas I would greatly appreciate. Thanks

More POWER....

Why not take power from your cig lighter? It has ignition switched power from the accessory fuse, and is only about 10" away.

its real easy if you just take the top off of the front center console, and take the ashtray out, wires will be right there. To take the top off the console, unscrew the gearshift **** (guess its the same on auto, i have manual) and then inside console, there will be a semicircluar piece that will pop out at the front right hand side of the inner console. Pop it out, put finger in there, and pull up. then screws are exposed for the ashtray, remove them and presto the WIRES.
