Worth it to only Upgrade front speakers?
I recall TAMAS saying that he intially installed Infinity (Kappas?) in the front before upgrading the rest of his system and it livened up the music quite a bit.
I have the Bose system but it sounds "flat" regardless of how I set the bass/treble. I'm convinced they are hopelss, but don't want to go the subwoofer/amp route.
If TAMAS reads this, would you say that just just changing the fronts woofer/tweeters with quality speakers would be worth it if nothing else was changed?
I'm hoping for a much better quality HU in the future and would rather not install an amp. I'm not an audiophile, but do care enough to wait for OverLoads aux-in module for mp3s or a high quality HU.
(I was thinking of PM'ing Tamas but thought this might be an informative post for the lazy/cheap owners here.)

Well, when I replaced my speakers, I replaced them all, not just the ones in the front.
Also, I have the non-Bose stereo, which makes upgrading the speakers much easier. The Bose system's components are much more 'tuned' to work together as far as I know.
Not sure how replacing those huge woofers in the front with aftermarket components will sound... but this was already done I believe, so hopefully someone will chime in with their experience.
I'm not an experienced person with car stereo installations (more like an amateur who is willing to try out things), so others will probably give you better advice than I can.

I don't know about the 6x8's in the front, but even my untrained ear can tell the Bose system sounds dead. If I had to do it over again, I'd seriously consider just the Sport package, but I really wanted the moonroof. I'll poke around the other posts again and see how others who've replaced the Bose speakers fared.
I'd rather do it myself (I'd rather break the fasteners myself), so I'll also give the folks at Crutchfield and see if they have any advice. Perhaps just upgrading the fronts to something like the Kappas will be all I need to liven things up. I don't have a need or desire for booming bass.
