Xenon Interior Lights

Has anyone done this? If so, what do you think? How about this price?

I wonder if you couldn't get the same effect with the build-it-yourself kits from autolumination (maybe 1 or 2 blue LEDS and the rest white)? Or if they already have something comparable. 39$ is too much for that set of lights when i can get a combo of blubls/LEDs from autolumination for cheaper.

I didn't bid. I was a bit hesitant because I saw another post about Autolumination lights (wtg robertdot).

I've only had problems with the blinker bulbs from Autolumination. I got a few interior bulbs, and those were fine.

Still $39 is $5.57 each. Autolumination has 194 Superwhite (Xenon) bulbs for $1.49 /e. If I remember correctly, all the lights listed are 194s. That's $10.34 for all of them, then shipping for $2.50 (and tax if they do that every).

Like I said, I've never had problems with their 194s. Hell, I might make that order now.

****[EDIT]****

Okay. I went ahead and placed the order from autolumination. I'll do a DIY or post the info here if the project turns out well.

1.dont get the Leds on the interior if you like how it fades up and down...LEDs only go on and off
2.Xenon interior? yeah right...just get bright white regular halogens...they cost 1/3 as much and look the SAME as the picture (they are in my interior and I got them at walmart...total cost for all bulbs ~$12

The "Xenon" superwhite 194s from autolumination are incandescent.

I did this to my car, all I can say is the white light isn't as bright as the stock light. The light out-put for 194 bulbs isn't that bright. I suggest you get 168 bulbs, they're duel-fillement and work really well on the interior. Or just go for the 194 LED. Remember that with LED's the light wont fade on or off like incandescent bulbs. (You know when you close your door and the lights fade out.) White light kicks ***. :D

Okay. I finished installing the bulbs from autolumination yesterday. As TxRx8 stated, they are not as bright as the stock ones. They are much whiter, though. I was hoping for a little bit of a blue tint, which didn't show up. Also, the dome light in the center of the car is another type of light, so that one isn't replaced.

Back to the drawing board for me. I wouldn't suggest this mod, esp. if you are buying the kit on E-bay for 39$.

Sold me on not doing it then. If you ever figure out the best way to do this, let me know.
Thanks!

Rubbish.

I've completely replaced every lamp in my interior with LEDs and they still fade in and out just fine. The fade is a little quicker than with incadescent bulbs but it's still there.

LEDs don't fade in and out they are a 'digital' diode, on or off there is no 'analog' variation of brightness as a direct ratio of the electricity going in...probably 'rilot' just looked at them in the dark and so the intensity of the light was too much for the eyes with the dark contrasting background. So the the 'fading' was actually his pupil coming down from a dilated state...

Now there probably is a set of multiple LED array replacment 'bulbs' that when dimmed will turn of LEDs consecutively instead of all at once...creating a dimming effect that is the stepping down of light
