Thumbs up xm installed today

Had my XM radio installed today. I don't think I'll use the CD or FM radio again. It may be my imagination but it seems to sound better than either of them. I have the Bose system w/ a 10" sub. The mid-range always sounded a little flat or the bass overpowered everything else. The XM sounds very well balanced.
btw - I have seen others post that you have to pull the head unit to get to the antenna connection. The installer said he found an antenna connector under the dash on the driver's side - I didn't see it, but I know he didn't have to pull the HU.

I noticed that cd's play a lot sharper and clearer, and with more base than anything on FM.

The CDs are definitely better than the FM, but the XM seems to be clearer in all ranges. Maybe it's just the thrill of having a new toy!!

XM does sound good, but eventually you'll begin to notice the hiss from the FM modulator. CD's still sound much better.

The FM modulator for the XM taps into the HU antenna. The XM antenna just sticks magnetically to the trunk.
Sorry - no camera yet- I don't know how to attach the link but there are some pics from Drphil on page three of the Audio and Electronics forum (I think it's the third one down) - "XM Radio Installation"
I did the same install in the console cupholder - it's the perfect location, pretty easy to access and hidden away when you want it to be.
How do you attach a link into a thread?

Saw someone else post about a hiss from the modulator but said installing a filter took care of the problem. I haven't heard it yet, but I've only listened for a short time. Does it develop over time or is there from the start?
