The Axxess box does use the Tape/MD in and does display track/artist information on the display. However, this does only work for iPod's. You can't just plugin some other mp3 player's 1/8" jack and have the information. It comes over the USB dock connection.

Strangely I haven't had a problem yet this year and I drove my car the other day when the ambient temp read 115F. *shrug* Of course now I am going to have a problem but whatever. :P

If you go down the aftermarket dash kit and head unit road,do you also have to change the factory speakers and amps as they are all tied in together? I was hoping not to change those for the moment.

Got a question.
I have the factory Sirius Sat radio and am wanting to add my Harman Kardon Drive & Play for my ipod. Is there an easy install solution?
For some reason I'm thinking the install port is the same. Is that correct or am I way off on this one?
Thanks!!

And this has to do with the AudioLink adapter how? Come on guys...really...are you that hard up that you can't click search or just read the first post of this thread?

The best one I know of is the IO Play, but it doesn't work if you have the upgraded Bose system with 6 cd changer. Apparently they haven't developed the cable to connect to the stereo. That's what they said when I phoned them anyway.

Sorry Devilboi! Thanks for the aggressive response.
I did search and I did read the first page...yeah that didn't answer my question. I thought I would ask the question since I wasn't sure, but I guess questions only you approve are ok?
Wait should I have asked that question or this one?
Bro, it's just a thread. It's not life and death or war. I thought maybe a simple question could be answered quickly. Sorry that I ruined RX-8Club.com.
I'll just start my own thread. Sorry to anyone else who was offended.
OH NO!! PLEASE, PLEASE don't Flame me!! Geez...

They all work with everything above 9.55. Isn't that covered in like post 1 of this thread?

Hi guys, I am interested in ordering one of these audiolink. But I am confused how some members in the forum is able to just install it through the glove compartment but while others have to remove the whole head unit? I'm interested in putting it through the glove compartment. Thanks!

Ok, just installed my RPM iPod/iPhone adapter. It works as advertised. I'm using my regular play lists and can switch between them. The finger controls on the steering work as well. I have an app for my iPhone that allows for voice dialing...when you switch to phone mode, the radio pauses and a female voice says 'Telephone'. or something like that.. Pretty neat.
The only problem I had/have are 2 fold:
1st: right after installing, my DSC OFF light came on. I little icon with the slippery wheels showed yellow. I drove around for a bit ( I also installed my Axial Flow SS) to get a feel for the new shifter and the use the hand controls for the iPhone adapter. I pulled into the garage and turned off the engine. When I started again, the icon and flashing DSC OFF lights were gone...so hopefully they'll stay gone!
2nd: Immediately upon connecting the iPhone, I get a message that this unit is incompatible with the iPhone and will cause interference if making/rcv'g phone calls AND that it won't charge my iPhone. I'll have to contact RPM about that...
That is all.

Oh yeah, finding that hidden bolt was a P.I.T.A. !!!! Disconnecting and replacing the connectors in the back was double P.I.T.A. !!! If you have small hands or skinny arms, you'll likely do better. The easiest way to pull out the H.U. is to go thru the glove box.. it just POPS! right on out..
