100 octane+55 shot=?
I just finished installing the zex 55 wet shot and tested it this weekend it works great nice pull all the way to redline. I'm going to the track to run the 1/4mile this sunday any advice? I'm going to fill up at the track with 100 octane I will try to post a time slip but its hard to since I don't have a computer I just have my blackberry.

Just double check your fuel lines to ensure there's no leaking.
Don't launch from low RPM's (sub 4,000 RPM) and above all do not for any reason lift off the throttle for any reason other than shifting.
You should be fine, be sure to post slips!

I plan on launching around 5,000 rpm and ill make sure to shut off the nitrous before I let off the throttle. I will try to post a time slip like I said I don't have a computer but maybe I can email someone that's nice enough to post them along with some pictures of my setup its pretty clean looking!

Thanks for telling me this so I don't have to waste my money at the track. Also CRH thanks for all your info on the nitrous threads it really helped out on the install and understanding how it works. And I thought the higher octane the better for nitrous use?

if you are really concerned about something going wrong, i wouldn't say the 100 octane is literally useless, as it will provide some protection against detonation. It is useless for increasing performance however, and if your fuel solenoid fails or something you are probably still going to have problems.

Dont waste your money on that crap from NOS. Go to a local performance shop and ask for a can of Torco Accelerant. Stuff is awesome. It can turn 91 gas into 104, (depending on your mixture.) It gives you directions on the can as to how much to add per amount of gas to get a certain octane. My last car was a Saturn Redline which I had a full rebuild and every part imaginable for that engine. I lived in AZ with the shitty 91 gas like you, so my dyno guy turned me on to this Torco stuff. I typically ran a mixture for 97 octane and the car ran BEAUTIFULLY. Its not a placebo effect, it makes a difference. I ran 0 knock at 21lbs of boost. If youre not running any tuning software I dont see any point in creating anything higher than 93 octane. I dont think the computer can adjust for anything higher, so whats the point?
