So far so good, motor is running great! Took her for a few more spins and was hitting 5 pounds of boost effortlessly at only part throttle (maybe 30%-35%) and revving up to maybe 4500rpm, if that. Should be on the dyno by next weekend after I put some more miles on her.

thats real great, to me you have the biggest turbo i seen so far on a rx8 but i do know thats projects take time because i belive you were working on this build since last year and now your just about finished. Plus that big *** Garrett GTX4294R which looks real nice in the engine bay. on my setup when it gets there will be a GTX3582r, but good luck when that dyno day comes around becuase i know this baby should be putting down some good numbers..

Thanks Saucey!

Just when things were starting to look good...now the EGI COMP1 fuse keeps blowing, I think my harness melted somewhere around the downpipe, I'm pulling it out to fix it then I'll use an Inconel shield from Turblown to wrap it up...yes projects like this take a LOT of time because of issues like this that arise.
btw - that GTX3582r will rock!

had same thing happen once - turned out to be the rear o2 wire melted against the exhaust .

Thanks for mentioning it Brettus.
After I pulled the harness I found that both OMP plugs and the APV plug (which I don't have plugged in) were all melted, the OMP plugs/wires were fused. That was my bad, I left them dangling right on top of the manifold in between the downpipe. Sort of forgot about them since I don't use them and nothing is plugged into them.
I was obviously relieved that it wasn't the main harness...
I've chopped all the wires and tucked them AWAY from the heat now...
Just waiting for a sheet of Inconel from Elliot that I'll use to wrap the main harness for extra precaution.

They're holding up fine now, but after many headaches fitting them and finding the right size fittings unfortunately. I think my issues were a bit more severe because I'm running larger -8AN fittings/lines, also when I got the Injector Dynamics injectors it was a nightmare all over again trying to fit them. And even once they were finally in I had major leaks that I had to fix due to the fuel rails sitting either too tight on top of the injectors or too loose...just glad it's over...

i guess the rails can either go hand in hand becuase i know some rx7 owers had issues with the kg rails. wells long as there wokring fine thats good. but i think most 7s run -6 or -8 for lines anyway i belive

She's running again...oh and the battery has been reolocated to the trunk.
I had to go with a battery with higher CCA so I went with an Optima 34R @ 800CCA. Fires right up everytime now.

There are a few pics in my build album, let me know if there's something more specific you want to see.

Custom steel or like material could solve this, and I believe in a earlier post he stated he was having a custom one made.

My car is pretty low but I angled the intercooler upwards in the front just enough that a I have been clearing all driveways/speedbumps/dips so far.

Jesus H Christ!!!!
I hope a pipe doesnt come off--you will blow the damn hood off the thing!!

Have you considered going with the lower compression rotors at some point?
How are you ventilating the "crank case"?
Serious wrench time and it is looking good dude.
