500 is plenty for the Goopy's to bed nicely. The MFR bearings already come with a little extra clearance and the front and rear stationary gear bearings & e-shaft are worn just right, nothing is too tight.

Supposedly anything in the 2% dilution range is critical, I'm very interested to see the results of my oil analysis...
Btw, here is the oil analysis from the previous motor.
Fuel dilution was greater than 5%!

Finally broke in the motor and have been having some fun up to about 10psi.
Still a lot to work out/tune. For now the aux ports are blocked off, but when the SSV opens the motor falls on its face, AFRs go WAY rich. I set the SSV to open at 6300 instead of 4300 and the same thing is happening, but it pulls really nice right up to the point of the SSV opening RPM. Waiting to hear back from Adaptronic how the injector staging logic works, if it's in any way tied to the SSV opening.

Keep ya posted...

The secondary injector firing and the SSV opening are tied together and are initiated based on load. The issue is not the SSV opening point (3200 rpm is good), but rather your fueling inputs from that point onward

Not sure with your piggyback PCM, but the two come on regardless of load in the factory programming in open loop above 6000 rpm.

No th sure how the adaptronic does it...but if they fire with the valve closed that is a problem. You will get raw fuel running in to the combustion chamber that wont burn....missfires and fuel dilution

Yeah, you should verify that the SSV is actually opening too, I overlooked that possibility in my prior post

The thought of the SSV not opening crossed my mind too. I have the SSV vacuum source still connected to the stock location on the UIM, if I'm in positive manifold pressure then there's obviously no vaccuum to open the valve right?
Are FI guys re-routing that vacuum source to pre-turbo?

There is a vac accumulator in the UIM...make sure that the valve isn't leaking that allows the vac to be stored

I would check to make sure the valve is openning like Team said......

Yeah I'll have to check that valve again, it was good last time I checked it way over a year ago. I had no idea that was a vac accumulator. Thx Dan.
I know the SSV works well under vacuum, I set the SSV to open at over 500rpm as a test and I visually verified the arm moving and the engine idle sound very slightly changed, but again that was under 20" of vac at idle. The problem right now is verifying that it's opening under pressure which I guess at this point can only be done visually on a dyno...

btw - thx for the diagram Team, that's exactly how the SSV and check-valve are plumbed right now.

Another way to verify it is working is to have someone (or use your turbo timer) to turn the engine off while you are looking at the actuator . It does a check cycle immediately after shutdown ....

this would also verify that the vac chamber was holding vacuum.

Does your tuning device just take over fuel and spark ? If so is it a modifier or does it stand alone for those functions ?

heck just do what i do--put the end of very thin small piece of tape on the valve (part that moves) and the other end on something stationary--little bit (tiny bit ) of shoe glue to help hold it in place and then just go for a drive.
Old trick from my spy/paranoid days.

I've been in touch with Andy at Adaptronic and after making his suggested changes all I can say it WHOA!

Car pulls great from about 3500RPM and hits max boost(13psi for now due to wg spring) at about 5500RPM and holds to my shift point of 6800RPM, was going way too fast at that point to go past 6800RPM on the street. AFRs were at about 11.4-11.8, Leading timing was at 10 degrees with 15 degree split and AITs were between 100F-110F. No AI yet and 91 pump gas with 128:1 premix. Getting there slowly but surely...

I'm definitely interested, the available time slots would really determine whether or not I can make it since this is a busy weekend. Can you find out approximately what my time slot would be and PM me? Any other info about the event would be great too. Thx!
