270 whp

270 whp
With just the GReddy turbo kit I made 214 whp @ 6 psi.
Then I got a custom straight through exhaust and the RP catless midpipe. The exhaust is trick - its a single 3" from the midpipe back, straight through and out the little rotor emblem in the back - so I got rid of the duals, saved some weight, and have higher flow - best part - the shop made a custom muffler tip in the shape of a rotor to go out the rotary shaped hole they cut, so it looks like it belongs! With this, and my manual boost controller, I made 239 whp @ 7 psi
Finally, we used the GReddy injector harness and raised the boost to 8 psi. The shop said they didn't feel comfortable pushing it past 8 on the e-manage, much to my disappointment. Final result - 269.8 whp @ 8 psi.
Next step? AEM standalone when that comes out, and hopefully figure out how to open the ports WAY earlier, like as soon as the turbo spools up.

I have a meet this Saturday, hopefully some people will take pics of the exhaust.
And yes, I need at least 300 whp to keep up with my friend's Supra and Z06.
I wanted 12 psi at least, which should hit 300 whp, but the shop said the e-Manage just isn't the tool to do it. I'm sure I COULD just raise the boost and pray - the car has already seen 16 psi with no ill effects (we forgot to tighten the boost controller when installing it!)
However, the guy told me he did the math and the stock injectors/pump aren't good for more than 10 psi safely.
Car is fun! About as fast as my RX-7 now.

When you said "just the GReddy kit", is that tuned, or untuned? You still running the emanage blue, right?
With such a large gain by going up only 2 psi, that makes it sound like you were running the stock map at 6psi. I am in the midst of tuning right now. I am aiming for 11.5AFR. I can already tell a huge difference in the power over the stock map. BTW for all you guys running the stock map, there is a REALLY LEAN spot in that map around 4k RPM. I'm talking AFRs of near 17 or so You guys need to watch your AFR's and tune it!

A) 6 psi was tuned for a few hours
B) 7 psi I had the custom exhaust/midpipe and the original tune
C) 8 psi we decided to lean it out a lot and had about 2 hours tuning, plus injector harness added
D) Yes, the second post is SUPPOSED to be my dyno charts. It won't let me upload them, and they're too small on photobucket - anyone wanna host?

Nice results. Also, if you have an HKS Certified Dealer in your area, take a look at the HKS PF Con V Pro. 10X the unit the EManage is.
For injector look at the high resistance 550cc units from RC Engineering for your primary 2's & maybe your secondaries.
I would push it to 10 psi first & see if your car has any problems. If it does than go for the injectors.

Ok, a few more answers
from what I could understand, the e-manage won't allow us to pull fuel in certain parts because the map just has a big 0 for the little block, but in reality we need to pull fuel - and with injectors, we would DEFINATELY have to pull fuel, so I've gotta wait for a standalone.
I'm sorry about the charts - I'll work on getting them up.
I don't have pictures of the exhaust, I don't have a digital camera to take pictures of the exhaust - maybe Saturday at my meet someone can take some shots for me
I will NEVER let Altered Atmosphere touch my car again, or give them business. They are a bunch of scam artists and bastards. You will find 90% of people who have dealt with Altered will say the same thing.
I went to Agile Auto in Cockeysville, Maryland, and they were FANTASTIC. They also did my friend's supercharged Miata which was a blast, and when I was there they had a twin-turbo NSX, and their SEMA winning WRX - both very cool cars to look at.
I'll look into the f con - what is the benefit of it over the e-manage? I'm thinking I won't change ECUs until there's one that allows electronic control of the ports, so I can have all ports open when the turbo kicks in.

If you want to open the ports up with the emanage I posted a schematic of a circuit that would do that awhile ago. Its pretty simple to build and I could help you through it. I would love to see what kind of gains it would produce.

How does 270whp in the 8 feel by the way? I live pretty close to you in northern VA, any chance of getting a ride in that thing? In return you can check out the Interceptor computer when it eventually arrives since you are looking at a new stand alone.

It feels pretty good actually. About as fast as my old GT3540R RX-7 @ 11 psi.
Sure I'll give you a ride, and you can tell me more about opening these ports earlier.
