In installed Hoss-05's BHR kit in and it starts right up now I even grounded it to the same place as I had mine. I cannot believe it was that this whole time. And I just got the kit back from BHR with new wires 10,000 miles ago. I will have to get with Charles and see what he thinks.

My bad then. Thought you had already tested those per our earlier email discussion. Certainly slow starter speed with one or more bad trailing coils will be a problem.
The issue is more common than people seem to be aware of ...

Okay.
So I went up to Dallas to have Steve Kan tune my car. A few problems were identified so the dyno numbers were less than stellar but basically I am making around 210HP at 5500RPM at 2.5 psi or so, .
Now, Steve did warn us that his Mustang dyno reads low and to not get caught up on numbers. Another guy (OD, he said he met you at Road Atlanta BTW) was there with his (one of) sick *** full race car FD and he said he did a dynojet run in Atlanta and then a month later on Steve's dyno, and there was about a 35WHP difference on his FD and that the difference was also consistant with another dynojet he has been on as well. My numbers were on about 2-3psi average with spikes all over (under 10psi) but after 5500RPM boost was nose diving (dyno hooked up to UIM) by 7300RPM where Steve was backing off. With it on the Greddy wastegate and the controller set to zero it was spiking to 10psi early in the rev range so he/we did not want to turn up the boost and see higher spikes. When I did turn it up a few psi it still nose dived and only bumped up the final boost at 7300rpm by about 1psi. So basically I need a proper EBC and my manual controller is **** according to Steve because everything else seems mechanically sound. Although after a few runs on the dyno I did have a few hard starts and that was worrisome but the car is pulling good vacuum and today I had no hard start issues during the long hot drive from Dallas with a few stops during so I am really stumped with that issue. The car ran flawless during the 500+ mile trip minus the shittier gas mileage on the return trip due to a heavier foot at times
He spent a lot of time changing my tune and despite what was going on with the boost on the dyno, the car is just a different car. AFRS are solid across the board, no rich spots, and no more misfires. It pulls hard as fawk and I am ecstatic.
Now, Sifu went second with his BNR setup and everything went a lot smoother because his Blitz EBC worked flawlessly and he was able to maintain boost all the way to the 7300RPM stopping point with a peak set of 10psi and IIRC, a low of 7psi when it started to fall off in the higher revs. He was having some misfire issues and so we learned something new about spark plugs on turbocharged RX-8 applications. Basically you need to just run stock trailing plugs in both the leading and the trailing and be done with it. He was pretty set back that we were running the stock trailing/FD plug combo and recommended against it for a few reasons. We swapped the plugs out on the dyno and the results were much better and his car is fully tuned and is the fastest turbocharged RX-8 I have ever driven in according to my butt dyno. I have driven a few and driven in a few. I will let Sifu post up his own numbers but holy **** his car pulls. The numbers would have been even better had Steve gone up to 8500RPM.
I will get my EBC in and then I should be able to go to 10psi without needing a re-tune according to Steve. But when a couple other buddies go up for a tune I will have him do it again regardless. If my car pulls like sifu's then I will be perfectly happy with it.
If I can say one thing it is that I regret not going to him in the first place. I do enjoy learning to tune but at the end of the day I don't ****. It takes years of practice and mistakes to get that knowledge. I should have done exactly what sifu did as soon as I got my car running. It was worth every single penny spent.

The only numbers that matter would be lap times or 1/4 mile times. I will dyno here locally just to see the numbers and get a ballpark on where the different dynos stand but generally unless you are doing back to back runs on the same day the data will vary. The guy I met there was very knowledgeable and explained how the different dynos were set up and they have to be set up in a precise way to be completely accurate because some has various built in sensors such as barometric, temp, etc.

glad you are making progress..... Steve is a great guy to work with and is too damn smart at tuning. I sure am satisfied with mine. If I ever change injectors ---maybe--he will be the one retuning for me.
Hows the throttle response Just kidding around!
Glad Steve agreed with me about the sparkplugs--ditch the gapless plugs.
Now if you want it to run even a tad better--ditch the ngk's and go with the densos---colder trailing and leading. Then reduce the gap to around 32
why did you stop at 7.2 K rpm?
