Nice. Were you having issues with them working loose? Probably back in your thread somewhere....

Yeah I had one work lose and create a leak. I could have just used Copper exhaust manifold nuts but this set was only $25.00 so why not.

Cool, sounds like it was a good choice. I've been lucky so far, but if I wind up having issues I will have to give these a try.

My car is fine, just decided to take the time to address some things (new clutch, flywheel resurface, SARX oil filter relocation setup, SARX intake ver 3.0, clean up battery relocation wiring front and rear and install float charger pigtail, install the blue sea distribution center in the engine bay and clean up that wiring properly, S2 trans, coating and wrapping the turbo manifold, etc) while I have it all apart. I am getting back to it now though, I have been working on the house and helping my dad with his new shop most weekends.

Anyway, Hoss-05 helped me with this last weekend.

And I made my battery relocation permanent but cutting all the factory wiring so I could clean up under my intake tray a bit.

This weekend and next I am hitting it, so I should have it mostly back together but I am still waiting on my welder to finish some intake piping and C6 pipe changes and then once those are powdercoated I will be able to slap them in and get her off the stands

wait so you installed the transmission, without doing those things, then took it apart again to do the flywheel and clutch?

the battery wiring looks great!!

keep up the good work!

No, I did the clutch and flywheel and then the trans is going in, it's all wired up ready to go. The turbo stuff is easier to do with the trans out of the way so I will slap the trans in last.

I also got my first prototype of the wastegate actuator mocked up today, it is going to work well. The actuator head itself is wider by 3/8" so I need to make sure it clears the chassis but it should. This will be something I will offer to the Greddy guys who need a replacement. Don't mind the cut are, it will have a custom on it that is properly bent like the Greddy one.

I can't afford a boat, way more maintenance than a turbo RX-8,

I was planning to make an adapter harness between the S2 trans switches and the S1 harness. This way nothing has to be modified and either trans will swap in as-is. Just need to locate one if the S2 switch mating connectors and it will be done.

Adaptors for one wire connectors? Seems like busy work. I just put spades with waterproof marine grade heat shrink.

Locally we have found a few strange issues with the grounding of these wires.

It's not that big of a deal. If I have to ever replace a switch on the S2 trans mine will just plug in like OE. If I need to drop an S1 trans in for an emergency racing replacement, same thing. I have a pair of S1 switches to cut the wiring loose for that side of the equation, one of the S2switch connectors is pretty std, the other one I just need to make the effort to find. Like you said, it's just single wire connections, no big deal to make it hassle-free PnP with either trans.

I do only have some old whiney S1 transmissions as backup for the moment

Not sure what I'll do with the broken ones since there is zero interest in them, deep six them into the dumpster I suppose

None, it will be the first one for me. Moving to the next higher prep level allows the change. Had to use an S1 previously since thats what came on it from the factory. In this class we can update/backdate between the two (USDM only).

Test fit successful, still waiting on my welder to finish all my piping, then it's off to PC.

Fazda, the CC is $90 shipped, crazy price for the quality. I got my black fittings in, they will allow me to run braided Push Lock hose. They add some cost but we have the tooling to make them so it helps.

I am also delaying my build some more by hiding my vacuum distribution block
