So today I heard a weird clunk on the right side while pulling the car out of the driveway so I decided to pull back in and jack it up. I found this. I am so glad it did not separate at 100MPH.
I had my buddy check, it was replaced under warranty on 09/21/2005. But I don't remember that, There was a recall apparently and this was the updated part. BUt I have 143,000 miles so it's understandable.
Luckily I have a 09' R3 parts car with 9000 miles on it in my driveway that a buddy owns and it is 95% complete so I am just going to swap those parts over.

I disagree sir. truthfully, it needs a whole new wiring harness after the salt water flood damage. It will serve its purpose as a mint condition parts car for the rest of its life.

Ahh Salt Water makes it much worse.....
Then you guys need to put the interior in one of your cars!
So at first I was like, FML I can't get the lower control arm out without removing the turbo!!!!
So I decided to take a break and I went to eat and see a movie with my GF. Afterwards I decided to have another look and I remembered that my SARX actuator bolts to the bracket,it is not spot welded like the Greddy Actuator
I was really not looking forward to taking the engine off the mounts or possibly removing the turbo.
Not to the bracket, The Greddy actuator is spot welded to the bracket. Getting to the bolts that secure it to the compressor housing is impossible with the coolant lines to the turbo.
I got the R3 arm on, the bushings are different in the R3 arm. I will likely do the other side and the rears and A arms and other control arms for GP. If this one wore then the rest are likely as worn.

Just noticed this .....
This has happened on track to one of the rx8 race cars here ......... caused a crash at over 100 mph... luckily minor damage only .
As a result they came up with a plate that stops the thing from falling apart should it fail . I have ordered one for mine .
Got any details on that plate? Just curious what it looks like. I will be using the old arm on the R3 so I can keep it mobile. I was planning to drill it and use a long bolt just to keep it together so I can still use the wheel dollies to move the R3 when I need too.
