I've got an HKS and your description is how I would describe mine. I was recirculated, but recently went VTA. It got a little louder, but not alot. I like how it sounds. I did NOT put in that dumb F&F whistle thingy hahah...

Given that they are all made in China, I usually go right to the factory 'back gate'.....

$17 delivered, had this one on my turbo Subaru for two years now, no problems.

Stealth,

That looks similar to my current MS filter.
The one 9K has found and has thus far tested for everyone is much smaller yet, performs just the same.

You don't even own an 8, let alone a turbocharged one.

Also, I hate K&N filters. I would prefer to be using a filter that actually filters well. But until I find the best one, I am stuck with what is available.

You don't have to own a car to know what filter fits in an application. Secondly, it just might be possible that I work on cars. But you already knew that. I'm not sure what is going on with your animosity towards me. I was complimenting you.

I don't have any animosity towards you, just pointing out that you don't have an 8 and that is not RX-8 specific filter. I thought you were referring to use on an RX-8. If you meant it for another application I apologize, my bad.

Quick question for you.. Did the FAL 420 puller setup have any issue bolting up to the rad you have and did you have to do any modifications to the wiring? I am picking up the CSF and want to upgrade the fans as well but you seem to be the only one who has the FAL 420 so I wanted to double check with you first. Thanks.

The fans mount using standard radiator mounting pins. I cut the connectors off the stock fans and wired them to the FAL so they operate normally.

All is well, car is running good. I haven't made any changes, been busy modding my new daily. Next up will be new coilovers on the RX-8 and then I plan on diving in to the top mount build slowly.

Scott just buy a BMC filter and live happily ever after. It makes a world of difference... even when cleaning it.

Oh and IHOP sucks, you don't want that crap.
