That didn't take long lol. It seems like it might be easier to just run those lines anyways.

No problem.

Can you clock the Greddy turbo? If I remember correctly from when I helped Chris pull his apart the compressor side has a notch that has to be lined up to put the snap ring back on, don't remember if there was anything like that on the turbine side though?

My GF came and brought me the turbo (left the package in her trunk) and I immediately mounted it. The bottome fitting will be close to the manifold but the top one should be free and clear. I need to mount everything on the motor with the lower intake manifold to make sure. Luckily I am able to do all of this with a motor sitting here.

Yeah I talked to AMR (builder) and they said I just have to remove the pin inside that keeps it sitting the way it is. I really should just send it back and let them fit it perfect but that would delay this build even more and I think I can get it to work just fine the way it is.

Cool man, I wouldn't want to delay it any further either I'm sure waiting for everything has been killing you, but it's good to see someone doing everything right the first time. I'm working on getting all the supporting mods I need for my build so I know how it is. Can't wait to see your finished build!

^ Burn.

I also got my pod today. Here are also some pics of my drivers side cooler after I got cross eyed straightening all the fins and making a rock guard out of some mesh screen I had laying around. I really hate to ditch my Fluidyne oil cooler but I think this route is better. I should be getting my second long cooler in this week and then I will reinstall the coolers and mount the new lines and oil cooler thermostat.

But anyway I was just referring to a lot of people I've seen post on this forum complaining about issues they're having after going FI and 9 times out of 10 it's because they didn't do their research in the first place!

Have you ever thought about running evans coolant? I dont know for sure but a secondary radiator may not be needed when running evans?
I am considering this myself.

I have considered Evans but it's too expensive and too much of a pain in the *** since I cannot get it locally.

If you block the radiator with anything like a FMIC you will need a secondary radiator with or without Evans. Evans doesnt run cooler or if it does it is very little. What Evans does is give you a saftey barrier. If the car runs hot, you do not have to worry about catastrophic failure to to localized boiling.

So. Cleaning the LIM and intake Valves sucks. The carbon and gunk build up is amazing and mine aren't even that bad compared to others I have seen.

Can anyone tell me if oven cleaner is safe? Simple Green, Purple Power, and elbow grease are not working on some of it.

Carb cleaner is your friend, or if you don't mind the smell sticking to you forever, gas. Gas is a great cleaner and won't hurt any plastic. Just wear thick rubber gloves so it doesn't soak into your skin.

Damn.

I'd worry about oven cleaner on anything plastic, but it's worth a shot. You could always get some parts cleaner and let it soak. Check harbor freight. I know they sell parts washing stations, so i'd imagine the have the solvent. It's pretty concentrated, so dilute it in a bucket or tub and let the parts soak in it for a couple hours.
