Did you get a new housing with the wheel, or did you port it out to accept the new wheel?

It's a stock Greddy housing machined out to fit . Turbine was clipped also .

nom nom nom....

I think this might be the route I am going.

getting the water/oil cooled chra, then getting a 57 trim machine out the housing send off the turbo to get balanced. all in all should cost me $600

my turbo is honed out but I still have the stock greddy wheel on it. It sounds different compared to a stock greddy turbo. Cant explain why

This is true . Best bet is ... one guy who knows what he is doing to do all the wrenching and one helper . The others can bring food and have a party

I work better with an audience and usually half of the people there will just be standing around talking shop or doing other small mods. I like to talk shop and wrench at the same time. Usually if I screw something up it is when I am alone.

Besides Cornholio135 just needs to be there to make his spicy queso dip If he does that I won't make him get his hands dirty

Even if we're not all lending a hand, extra sets of eyes can be helpful. And if a problem arises, more people can work on figuring it out or running to pick up a part etc. I definitely get the point though... I can't imagine more than 2 or 3 people actively working on it at any given time.

Also, I think you left out shady from your list, unless I'm mistaken.

Shady is on the list and since he has don this before, his help will be critical I think. Pulling stuff out and taking it apart is easy, putting it all back the way it is supposed to be is the hard part I definitely have to get some mosquito repellant though, those damn things lynched me.

How's the AC working? All good?

^

Question. I don't have my engine in front of me (or little baggie of EM studs) and the guy at the parts counter just confused me. Is it six exhaust manifold studs that hold the manifold on? He says two and that the other four are bolts? I thought it was six studs, all the same size.

This diagram doesn't show.

I found this pic of mine and zoomed in, I guess it is six studs. It looks like I sent them with the old motor, I guess I need some new ones. I was wondering because I have everything bagged and labeled and I could only find one stud.

When in doubt look at shady's rebuild picture album!!

6 studs... Sometimes the nut gets seized on the stud turning it into a bolt.
