Another Turbo thread
Looking at all the Fi'ed cars made me really envious. And the elusive boosted club sits high and mighty up there.
Anyway this is the list. Im looking to get abt 260whp and will be tracking the car prolly once/2 months. This will be a DD car and im seriously hoping the below setup will allow me to do at least 60k miles without blowing up or major issues.
Required:
1) GReddy turbo kit
2) Oil Line Restrictor ( fix #2)
3) Synchronic BOV Recirc
4) Upgraded couplers to silicone units with t-bolts
4) Upgraded Silicone Vacuum Lines
5) Upgraded reducers/hoses
Intake/Exhaust:
1) K&N Filter or AEM intake
2) 3" Racepipe and catback exhaust
Monitoring:
1) Wideband Air Fuel Ratio Gauge
2) Oil temp gauge
3) Water temp gauge
4) Boost gauge
5) Greddy Boost Controller Profec B Spec 2
Cooling Mods:
1) Mazsport fan mod ( optional)
2) Mazmart Re-Medy water pump
3) BHR Automatic radiator
4) Mazmart 180-farenhite thermostat
5) 70/30 mix of distilled water/coolant w Redline water wetter
6) Vented Hood
7) ATF Cooler
EMS:
1) AccessPort or tuning by RE-A.
Misc:
1) Greddy oil pan
2) Greddy oil catch can
3) HKS turbo timer
4) NGK-5255 plugs
Pls advice if there are parts that isnt neccessary or if i had missed out on any important parts.
If everything goes well, im gonna hit BHR big time during their sale.
Cheers

suiLenroc,
Very cool, best of luck to you going FI. I'm in the process myself and nearly there, so I do have a couple of suggestions. Chief among them, talk to CRH and Phil's 8 as they have a lot of knowledge about boosted automatic 8s. Phil has a sweet setup it couldn't hurt to emulate albiet with a turbo and not a supercharger.
I wouldn't worry too much about the wideband gauge as the AccessPORT does a fine job of displaying AFRs accurately. mysql had a nice YouTube video comparing the outputs from his AEM wideband and his AccessPORT.
The AEM intake is good and very easy to install, its the best bet with the AccessPORT and a turbo setup as the diameter and length work well with the ECU.
You have a lot of cooling mods, which won't be a bad thing if you plan on tracking the car, but consider water/methanol injection. You will get a far bigger bonus with that mod for relatively cheap than many of the other mods you have listed. Its a good way to add a layer of protection and help you reach that 60k trouble-free FI goal. A catback exhaust is purely a sound modification as you will be lucky to gain 2-4 horsepower, so you might hold off on that to get something more beneficial. I would also recommend the BHR Ignition Upgrade, I haven't used it yet, but I've heard good things and just ordered it myself.
Best of luck, if you have any questions that I can answer just PM me anytime!

Your list looks really good, while you dont "Need" the BHR coils for 260whp you will notice a difference with them.
Additionally the AEM intake has a nice filter allready I doubt you would see a change adding a KNN to that.
The bad news is the greddy turbo kit will not run 60k without issues. The stock greddy kit will only last about 12k on average. There are some upgrade oppertunities available that will add water cooling and prolong the life of the turbo. MM was the first but he stopped production on the kit. Once you get the turbo issue resolved you should have a setup that will last you 60k

lol. This quote of urs is making me fear the worst. So there is no hope for the base greddy kit beside getting the upgrade from MM.
I need a turbo that is realiable for 60k
pls advice.

I believe BNR is creating a upgrade turbo for the greddy that is water cooled. I believe some people have allready orderd it. With the MM kit out of the picture this might be the best option unless you dont mind taking your greddy off and getting it rebuilt every 12k

look into the BNR upgrade for the Greddy turbo. he does a water-cooled CHRA conversion and uses a compressor wheel that is proven on rotary engines at the moderate boost levels typically used on Rx-8's.
