anyone try raising compression?
hi, im new i have an 05 mt with 31k on the clock and its almost paid off, at the same time im helping my dad build a locost 7 with a renesis power train. but more power is wanted without going fi. i read the posts about bridgeporting, but no one has a dyno. i was thinking with that plus filing in the cumbustion chambers on the rotors, longer runners, so you can get more revs plus a taller rear end to use those revs, and maybe e85 for good measure. anyone try anything like this?

I'll have dyno numbers on a stock BP soonish. within the next 1~2 months.
Mainly just waiting on 1 last item to ship Then I have some CAD work and assembly to do.
Higher compression... I don't know how much that would help. I think regardless, 250 WHP will be hard to reach on any NA Renesis setup. It's just hard to say. I don't know of a lot of people experimenting and posting detailed info as they go. Almost no one going with large ports so there's very little actual data on them, mostly just assumption on both sides of the fence. We'll find out for sure once I get mine built and broken in. I'll dyno it untuned on the stock ECU, and tuned with the AP. If i can find the time and money, I'll dyno it NA to get a base line ( I'd really prefer to so we can see exactly what changed).

you'd be better off raising the pressure with a low boost (3-5psi) easy spooling turbo application then pulling the engine apart and trying to raise compression by filling in the bathtubs. As MM reminded us yesterday you could get away with 3psi with nearly no changes.

easiest system would be a roots/screw or centrifical chargers
not too much plumming and easy to tune.
other then that like everyone states breaking 250 is hard if not impossible
from what i recall most bone stock vehicles are around the 180whp mark

blitz twin screw one is discontinued
petite and hymee are the only screw types remaining
only dnamotorsports exist for the centrafugal
the revisions they did after having it installed on my previous vehicle has improved greatly
nolonger using the c2 charger now using the p series
just change the pully for less then 12psi it was an 7 hour install job im my driveway with regular tools
but its not cheap, however worked awsomely and the drive was like you added another rotor n/a

well im not quite ready to give up on NA power as long as there is stuff that no one has tried but is proven to increase power. plus, i can take my rotors out for free, have em filled in for 30$ and get the chambers ground for a six pack. vs 8,000$ for a supercharger kit. but does anyone one have any data on performance gains in higher compression rotaries? according to engine simulator software, there is a solid 20 hp increase across the line in a piston engine with similar output to the renesis from increasing comp ratio by 2 points, if the engine is already apart, might be worth looking at.

i think you would gain more by porting and smoothing out the 90 degrees in the renesis over the work on the rotors.
possible upgrading the seals and get better oiling/bearings to allow for more rpms

yeah there is an SAE paper around that is mainly about the changes in stroke and volume for the 16x but includes information about changes in compression. basically for rotaries between like 9.5 and 11 there were no appreciable gains in HP. over 11 on gas and power was lost. What you do get is an increase in heat you have to deal with. search RGs posts for compression when you find the ones talking about this there is probably a link to the paper close by.
