apex seals

reading for last few weeks thru threads on apex seals for turbo application

Brettus had very good luck with Esmeril Racing apex seals.....they dont seem to be available any longer

so from what ive read and found online, that leaves Power Seals or Goopy.

what is the consensus on no break & doesn't eat the chrome housing ???

OEM Rx8 seals or OEM FD Rx7 seals if you get a competent rotary shop that does machine work to machine the slots for FD seals, and also run machined Rx8 corner seals for the FD apex seals because the one piece seals are known to be really rough on the irons. You'll also need the rotors rebalanced as a result to make sure everything is okay

not interested in any machining work, just spent days on the threads reading how brittle the OEM seals are for a turbo set up

i just got a greddy kit, and want to see what is "currently" available that is relatively shatter proof, with out eating the housings

Brettus had good luck w/ Esmeril apex seals, that dont seem to be ava any more

you’d come across a lot smarter by typing less and listening more.

Well, considering Brett tuned MY turbocharged Rx8 and im above 300whp on stock Rx8 seals... I'd have to disagree and say that the bigger concern is how good and safe your turbo tune is, supporting mods, cooling, fuel choice, etc is before your oem apex seals become a concern.

Also, it was Brett who advised me to go with either OEM seals or to do all the machining to put the Rx7 seals into my rotors. So, Checkmate.
