do we have too much intake for the exhaust porting?
i like power under 8K, Hell I like power under 7K

/\ the thing is OD - what I did really only applies to use with a turbo as the turbo is sensitive to the flow characteristics of the motor . And the port blocking idea is really only a band aid to maximise the efficiency of the Greddy.
A SC will get different results - it would be interesting to see what happens if you opened your aux port a little later though - you might be able to flatten out your hp curve in the 6500-7000 range .

Oh I know----I believe some pettit people are already looking at the later opening of the av--we will see.
I understand what you are saying, what I am thinking is that there is fairly good power available under 7K if we set the engine up for it. At less than 12lbs of boost.
Higher rpms 8-9K seems to be trouble areas as far as heat etc and if Mazda is going to offer boost ..............???

Just to throw a spanner in the works on all this - I have recently found that as the flow rate is increased to over 300g/s it is actually better to open the aux. port at the original 6100 rpm .
Not sure at what point this changes but i know i originally found benefits in opening them later at 250 g/s flow rates .
