Baller Boost-gregs new low mount turbo

Here's a update of what has been going on in "gregs" garage.

I was extremelly happy with the BNR Turbo kit but was also looking for a larger turbo setup, at the time of my research I was convinced I would have to build or piece the kit together myself and had no intention of building this kit with any urgency. I exchange quite a bit of emails with Scott inquiring about one of his older deisign Mazsport turbo manifolds and decided to have him build me one, while the building process began of my manifold I had a good number of phone calls and emails asking about turbo sizing etc. Scott started to realize what I had in my plans and gave me a offer I could not refuse. Here she is!

Low Mount Tubular Stainless Steel Turbo Manifold (v band)
Stainless Steel Downpipe (v band)
Precision Air Cooled BB 6266 with .82 A/R (billet compressor wheel)
Precision 46mm external wastegate (v band)
Wastegate recirc. to downpipe
Custom Engine Mount Bracket (retains factory engine mount)
RX8 Performance Engine mounts
Custom Charge pipes for hot side to IC

As beautiful this kit is not a one time custom deal, I was the first production owner. This type of kit will be available to the public

Scott could have taken my money and allowed me to build a turbo kit with older technology parts, instead gave a opportunity to own a well thought out low mount design with modern technology. Communication has been great throughout the entire process and the kit fitment is flawless being it was fabbed and pre-fitted on a shop car before shipment. The attention to detail is amazing IMO. There's no doubt this guy has some talent.

Thanks guys! The kit is installed in the car and running, I need to get a few more installed pictures. The low mount setup is so hard to get a decent shot without it being on a car lift and need to do some cleaning in the engine bay with sevenstock just around the corner.

WELL, I hate to say it but I have to give props to Scott on this one. This is way better than the Turblown low mount craptastrophy we have been dealing with here. That engine mount bracket, manifold, and waste gate placement looks well thought out and well fabricated. I would be nervous about using an air cooled turbo but I have never really seen one like that so I assume you have done your homework on it.

The only other concern would be having a silicone coupler on the compressor inlet so close to the manifold. But that could be remedied (if it hasn't already) pretty easily. Also Gregs, how close is the compressor inlet pipe to the engine mount bracket when the weight of the engine is on it?

I was reading up a bit and the max temps those things can handle is about 300-500 degrees for the most part depending on how long they see exposure to full heat.

the GT3071r kit uses a coupler as well, as long as you have a half inch or so of space between the coupler and the manifold you shouldn't see any issues. Remember that the coupler is on the inlet side meaning its seeing intake temperatures which help cool it down.
