The best choice...
I just picked up my brand new 08 - 8 a few hours ago.
Now the fun starts: As fun as the car is to drive it's just painfully slow. I'll be using the thing as a DD so I don't need to make 500 RWHP.
The question is: Now that people have been running boost (SC / Turbos) which would you say is going to be the most reliable to run as a DD?
Total parts and labor cost i'm looking around $9-13k right now I can spend.
I'd like to make at least 300 RWHP however it going to that point is going to cause problems then i'd have to rethink. From what I father 300 RWHP is a safe range to run the car as a DD.
So which kit really is the best in your opinion?
Any other thoughts and comments would be great.
I'm going back to read as many of these posts as I can.

It is subjective & you are opening a can of worms that brings out the worse in the forum members. haha. They are several threads on this floating around.
The SC has its crew of believers.
The Turbo has it's crew of believers.
Which side you go too, depends on how you interpret the date.

300 whp is great. 350 is greaterer.
As Wood's already said, there's a ton of threads about SC vs TC, and a ton of different kits available. You really need to spend a few weeks reading up.
Asking us to decide for you is counter productive. There is no best choice since what is best for you is subjective based on your needs.

Says the guy who's car resembles very closely what the OP asked about.
That said, start on the Dyno comparison thread in the Major HP forum, that should give you a great start.

There are several kits, turbo kits and a twinscrew SC kit (with another on the way).
Study: how you will get them installed and tuned, study maintenance and possible engine life issues, how much you will pay (really pay altogether), know what kind of performance and "drive feel" you want, and then decide.

If anything MM really did his homework to save people from doing the greddy turbo kit fixes.

I couldn't have said it better turborx8
Plus MM offers a great service that one else offers, he will personally tune your car by sending the data logs to him. What more can you want? and I'm sure he is going to come up with more gains somewhere.

Check out Speed force racings kit you will get at least 300whp believe me an RX8 with that kind of HP flies. Only thing I would say about speed force racing is I would invest in a different ECU Over all it is a good kit a clean looking install.

I have no idea what I was getting into at all, relatively speaking, which is why I chose the greddy/MM upgrade route. It wasn't about the money, it was about what has the most support especially if you live far away from all the others.

^ That's exactly why I picked the greddy kit way back when. It was by far the most prolific kit out there. I was sure any issue I might encounter would have been encountered by someone else before. I was right, that worked out well for me for the most part. It was just too bad that the fuel management was iffy and the turbo sucked. AP and the MM upgrade fixes both.
