I was on the on-ramp to the expressway and i started spraying... unfortunatly i could only spray for about 3 seconds and some dude cut me off so i had to let off the gas and break. well... i think i still had some fuel in the intake manifold. I checked out the MAF and it seems fine. i threw some MAF cleaner on it to be sure.

Now if you're using the spacer, that would mean the fuel puddled and backfired from in the UIM, not the intake. I wonder if this will have a deteriorating effect on the lifespan of your UIM.

I plan on buying a few more of the screens and some other parts for preventitive measures I don't think this will be the last time i will get a some backfires like that. Plus... I think we are going to try to tune for a 100 shot pretty soon. I would like to be prepared if I blow the manifold or any other "big" parts. This will be a learning experience for all of us at my expense!! feel free to donate to the "Punisher_RX8 blown up car fund"!

Well anywho... I will keep everyone posted on all the new developments with my car!

I'm all for that

Are YOU tuning the car, or having someone help you out? There may be some type of burst disc that BHR is working on that releases under high pressure. They like to develop quietly, then share their results after all the bugs are worked out though. Anyway, GL with your venture!
