Yeah, I haven't gotten a chance to write my review yet, and my lessons learned, but I have learned a LOT and I'm actually going to write a "Blackenedwings guide to turbocharging your 8" soon. I'm not going to use a lot of hyperbole or sensationalism in my review of PFS, but I am going to list the things I was told and what actually happened and let people make their own judgements. For me, would I ever take my car back there? Hell no. I took off work today and will be modifying my MAF setup so I'll let you guys know how the base tune runs with the updated setup later.

Alright! Stayed home from work today to sort out some stuff and was going to fix the MAF piping myself, but it was too goddamn hot so I got some friends at the local Mr. Tire to do it for me! Got the diameter change coupler moved further away from the MAF sensor, added the screen to smooth it out, and replaced the intake cone sock which had been removed by PFS for god knows what reason. I then swapped the car to the base map that Jeff made for me before he left that was scaled for my injectors. Huzzah! The car runs SO much better already. It's still rich as all hell, almost stalling out at idle from the mass amounts of fuel, but the rest of the gears saw noticable improvement and it all behaves the same way now. Before there was a lot of bizzare random behavior which Jeff tried very hard to tune around. I think it will be pretty easy to get this dialed in now.

Lesson #1) Nobody, and I mean nobody, cares as much about your car as you do. Just because they are professionals doesn't mean they will do it correctly, or on time.
Lesson #2) Be prepared for things to go wrong. It will always take longer than you expect to get parts, get things installed, or running correctly. Then when you do, something else will go horribly wrong. Have a backup car and don't stress out if things aren't coming together as fast as you like.
Just a bit of the wisdom I've learned. :P
On the positive side, I've already been getting clumps of people surrounding my car everywhere I go asking me what I've done to it, how much boost I'm running, and just complimenting me on it. It's a really unique and special car, and I am delighted to finally have a boosted 8.

Ya I always tell people who want to turbo their 8 to budget for an extra $1500 bucks on top of what you think it will be. The little **** adds up.
And if you think you will have your car running in X-amount of time, double it. And turbocharging an NA motor isn't for the faint of heart.....

Haha, I guess there is always that too Ray. I just can't decide if I want to pay off my car or install a turbo or stare at my money.

Well the car is running GREAT! Even on the base maps with the scaling for the injectors I can enter boost in all the gears now, and although its still way too rich its totally drivable. I drove the car into work today, no stalling, no abysmal gas mileage, just an absolute blast driving it in. I love boost.... I really really do. I hit a full throttle run in 3rd today on the way into work and it felt like I was kicked in the back.

You got it man! I got your email earlier, I'll respond when my wife gets back with my card. Thanks so much for all the help. I wish I had them swap the coupler at PFS on Friday, it would have saved us so much time. The car drives 10x better now even on the base map. Very predictable instead of crazy and spiteful.

I will have pics tomorrow.
I'll be sure to upload them by tomorrow night at the latest. My engine bay is still pretty messy, I had some coolant spill, and my air pump is still installed (long story) but its my engine bay and it has a turbo and a nice shiny BOV so I'm happy.

I think its the best sounding exhaust I've heard. The car sounds amazing. It's really very loud, so its not to everyone's tastes, but it is very deep and throaty like a V8, with no raspiness at all. The upper ranges are very full and the hiss/wine of the BOV aren't too shabby either. I'm going to have to take a few videos for YouTube or something so people can hear it.

Yeah pretty much lol.

The car is running amazingly today... I don't know how the car is adjusting, because the LTFT is 0%, but I can hit full boost in all gears now. It's still a bit rich, but not bad at all. I had the best drive into work I've ever had in my life. Huge grin plastered on my face. If I had any doubts about all the time/money I've invested in this car, they were banished today. I fixed the little aero flare piece that was damaged the other day, took some pictures, and drove her into work. Definitely going to take a break from the office to go driving today.
