Blitz Supercharge
#76
I defintely have my eyes on that axial flow supercharger and I'm waiting for some numbers on the newer superchargers to come out too. I'm going to go supercharger and not turbo.
The procharger supercharger seems it can deliver the power, http://www.procharger.com/, but costs some serious cash. I want to see if anybody can deliver 300 HP for cheaper.

As u guys can see the photos from my previous posts, the BLITZ SC system design to situate at the original position of the alternator. All brackets, mounts, hoses, extension plugs, pulleys and belts are provided for the relocation of the alternator, spark leads, etc…. (basically the job start from the things u see after the throttle body). The whole installation was quite simple for someone with a bit of mechanic background (for sure u need the manual as well). I got stuck with the wiring from the sub-computers to the ECU because I used some stupid clips that won’t clip properly, but other then that everything went smoothly.
No tuning require to the piggy back sub-computers which everything was pre-set by Blitz. The sub-computers helps to control and adjust the fuel map, rpm signal, clutch pulley (on the compressor) and boost. There are only minor boost settings to play around with and the boost is safe to run in between 0.37 to 0.42 hkpa range. Additional info (0.37 (hkPa) Pascal = around 5.35 PSI) to (0.42 (hkPa) Pascal = around 6.10 PSI).
The ON-OFF of the compressor is by controlling the movements on the throttle, by step down the throttle over 35% will activate the electromagnetic clutch (which is the clutch pulley on the compressor unit.) This is one of the good things I like about the system, which allows u to drive normal in town area and behave like a non-supercharged rx8. And you can still gently bring up the rpm within the 35% range. I think the fuel consumption is the same as a standard rx8 when you drive within that 35% range.

Advantages
Fast responds (instant)
No lag
Matching with the N/A characteristic (power progressively rise with the RPM)
Fuel economy (will provide figures later)
Disadvantages
Standard strut bar (tower bar) will not fit back on
180 speed limit still there…. (mine is a jap version)

Seems like you need to get your ECU flashed and take off the rev-limit and speed-limit. Also seems you should be getting some better 0-60 times. Any numbers?
Let us know the maker, if you find a struct bar that can fit. And about the air intake... Should help others.
bump... Rotor having too much fun with his supercharger to post???

Dude, I'll buy your tower brace, PM me with a $$ if you are interested, mine was missing when I bought the car.

Anybody else have info. on the Blitz supercharger?
I'm curious on the limits of the Blitz (roots) supercharger. I'm seeing on some other threads of people claiming 70 to 80 HP increases with the Blitz.
It does seem that the basic kit is a conservative tune. So perhaps a pro-tuner is able to take the kit from the 40 to 50 HP to a higher number. I'm just curious on how they can be doing that. Are they getting it up to 8psi, 9psi of boost? How? Anybody?
Also, with 70 to 80 HP numbers this would compare to the Pettit and Hymee twinscrew superchargers. So what would be the advantages and disadvantages in comparison to a twinscrew? Is there something left in the Blitz supercharger? Its using a modified roots blower (not the "regular" roots). So is it putting out heat levels comparable to a twinscrew? Maybe intercooler is the reason or what?

We do have a member on the Far East forums with the Blitz SC installed.
Its a staright bolt on with no tuning necessary though some rehousing is necessary. Dyno numbers put it at a straight up 80bhp increase and a whole lot more torque.
Cant remember his forum handle - but feel free to pop over to the Far East forum and pose your questions there instead.
