Nope - stopped using that years ago when I saw that it was causing a power loss.

I dint think you were running it--just trying to understand the increased bump up top--maybe the apv's really come on strong--any boost reduction at that level?
only 8 degrees leading timing?

I have set up my maps to go to 220% load now, and I have reached 211% load without any issues regarding the dreaded "going back to stock timing BS" is this at 9 or 10psi?

I have futs with my boost controller too, seems to peak at 10-11psi then sticks around 8-9, I haven't played with it anymore sense winter started

I have a few things yet to do and the weather need to get warmer and I can join you in logs and such

Did you just set max calc load to 220 and actual maps to 220 and it worked ?
Running 11 psi most of the way but have not been able to look at boost guage to check 7-8000 . Think it's holding at that level.

cool - I'll be hitting dyno soon - although I'm considering fitting a catback before i do that . Stock muffler must be quite restricive at this flow.

can't wait to see official dyno results although I've heard the virtual dyno is fairly accurate

Its a pretty funny statement since different dynos give different readings and not always in a repeating way either

but then its not unusual for people to think something is accurate only because it met their expectation

As far as virtual dyno goes - no i don' believe 430 either . But what it does tell me is that I have a significant gain over my old setup which was good for 320whp . Not that I couldn't have worked that out by the fact that g/s are now touching 400 vs 365 previously, boost is higher and ......my butt dyno.

My thoughts on accuracy come from a couple evo buddies who have shown their VD was dialed in within 5%. Yea, 20ish HP is a big difference but gives you a good idea of what kind of power your car is making.

Update :

Engine now has 6000kms on it and is running well
Have picked up a 2nd hand ECU and hope to get that mated to the car this week (needs linking to immobilizer)
Once that is done I need to get hold of a more free flowing muffler (stock on there currently) then it will be off to the dyno .

Look into a high flow cat while you at it. I am running a 100 cell cat.

A free flowing exhaust should yield good gains especially in a FI car.

Why run a cat at all? We have no emissions testing in NZ

What about noise testing? A cat makes a massive difference in how loud it is. Po po magnet.

The turbo takes the place of the cat as far as noise reduction is concerned ...

My RX8 has a cat back and OEM non gutted midpipe and "legally" my car is too loud. However, my mechanic understands that rotarys are loud and the police are very understanding of this also.

Yes that's the theory but there still loud at least all I ones I have heard, I have always been jealous of the modification laws and how relaxed the police are with modified cars.

Our mod laws are pretty strict and the police DO enforce them.

They are just more forgiving when it comes to noise with RE powered vehicles

VD is extremely accurate if its been configured correctly and the test is being done on a perfectly flat road. The mode you run it in, the version of the software, and the road can swing the values hilariously. If done correctly it will be within 2-5 whp consistently. That being said, there is no way this setup is making 430 whp, it simply doesn't have enough fuel for that. I'll be interested to see what the dyno numbers say its making.

Cool thread though, good to see one of the Overboosted Overlords doing well with the platform!

So I took the car to the dealer . they couldn't get my mismatch part no ECU to mate with my car so I found another ECU of the same part No. (at a wrecker) and fitted that . Started right up without doing anything to it .
So I'm back in the tuning game - $450 poorer though. Took all of yesterday to get the tune and the ME program sorted out .

This thing is really flying in the 6500-8000rpm range - excited to get it on the dyno.

Didn't I already tell you that you would have to get a computer that had the same numbers?
And I remember giving you all the number details.

Anyway sound like you have finally sorted out the problem.
