Lets not have another E85 debate in this thread...

I'd actually like to follow this bed and steal some ideas.

Nice numbers Brettus

Given what you have tested and what you now know. Which setup do you prefer?

Very nice, congrats! Did you happen to take a log at the same time? Just curious to know how the real dyno and virtual dyno compare.

So how did the other 8's do on the dyno Brett? Also, how much do you think the difference in correction factor and humidity make?

Now that I've had my fun .................. time to come clean .
The other NA 8s were dynoing 30-40whp higher than what you typically see on a Dynojet in the US. Stock 8 in good condition with low kms and new coils 225whp.

So........................I guess that puts mine in the low 300s by comparison.

The new one would win the drag race but old setup was definitely the more exciting car to drive - no question .

****, I didn't even think of that.

Well then it would appear that the above old and new dyno's aren't apples to apples either.
However do recall Brett doing some gearing modifications.
Can't remember .. stupid stupid stupid.

That makes more sense. Still good numbers, and if you intend to track it, the top end might grow on you. Congrats on the car, still one of the best turbo Renny's out there.

Yes they are apples to apples - both done at 1:1 gear ratios . With virtual dyno I was getting pretty much the same as the actual dyno (without the dynojet correction factor ) and I did a run in he same gear that we did the dyno in . Seems both VD and the dyno I used are optimistic .

Also , yes i did do a log when on the dyno as well but that is meaningless for VD because acceleration on the dyno is controlled by the ramp rate .

well congrats on the dyno run above 300 is great!!

you could always get a different turbo

so does this mean your original 320 is really 280 and your now at 320?

nice Bret, very nice indeed.
I understand how the old one would be more fun to drive---it may also win on the road course
Still, the recent result is really good--kudos to ya ! You built it, you tuned it and you run it.
Very cool!
