Still, the recent result is really good--kudos to ya ! You built it, you tuned it and you run it.
Very cool!

Yes - it's not much louder than stock though . You can hardly hear the tone over all the dyno noises .

Not really that happy - the comparison with the NA cars was quite deflating actually.

Maybe go to the drag strip and see what you run, that will make you feel better.

Saw an 8 with a 13b supposedly putting out 400whp at the strip recently . he was struggling to get under 14s on street tyres. LOL

Nice numbers Brettus... run her at the track, trap speed is a decent indication of hp.

What was the 13b 8's trap speed??

I ran a high 13 @ 113 on street tires :/

.

Didn't ask about trap speed - the guy just said he was really struggling to get traction off the line .

Had a play with boost controller yesterday and managed to get rid of the worst of that boost spike you can see on the dyno sheet using some unconventional settings .
Basically - ran the "start boost " setting up at 13psi . Seems that with it set lower the waste-gate allows more pressure to build up before cracking open suddenly. If it is set close to the desired boost level it cracks the WG open straight away from the sudden buildup of pressure. At least that is how it works with the way I have the WG set-up.

So what is this giving you for boost then?
You're not seeing a 13psi spike?
What's your target boost?

What's the SET Boost value?

I keep forgetting what type of WG you have.

FWIW on my Synapse WG on inputs A+D I'm getting 10 psi with the Boost controller off.
Turning on the EBC with values at the lowest levels SETBoost = 0 Gain=5 STARTBoost=0 gives me almost 2 more psi.
I figure it has to do with the 5% gain setting.

I'm getting in to my EBC start quite a bit more so I'm interested in seeing what you find out / you experience what you setup seems to require.

Cheers Brett

I don't think my internal (jacked almost shut WG) setup bears any resemblance to what you are running but for the record ....

Target boost is 12-13psi
start boost : 12.8
gain : 5%
set boost : 66%

Actual boost curve is shown on the dyno sheet . Both AFR and boost reference the same Y axis .

Dyno without previous overlay - boost is red line - AFRs blue line

Well .............. that's what it says . But , if you read the previous page you will see why the number is optimistic .

I'm thinking 320 - 330 is more realistic.

Honestly I think 300ish is perfect for our cars...

My car pulled 265 on a low reading dyno and that was almost too much power for me.

Mostly true in a daily driven car. However, at the track when you hit the main straight it becomes a drag race. Most tracks that I go to have a straight that is around 500 to 600m where you use 4th and 5th gear and can reach speeds over 200kmph is some instances. When you are up against V8 power, Porsche GT3 or Nissan GTR the power difference becomes evident.

Good thing we can corner well the overall lap times even out.
