After re- reading that article that 9k linked and doing some calculations , I decided to remove the 2 stage system I had made up and go back to one stage .
Then I took the wirds' advice and just upped the boost .................................................. .........to 17

Got some methanol coming as well - am thinking of just adding small quantities (10%ish) - mainly for better window washing but I guess i'll want to speriment as well .

You cruel and horrible person lol.

Last year I had to pull out a rabbit or a hare out of my oil cooler bit of the bumper. Well what was left of it anyway. Animals running across the road can be a pain in the ***

Well - i didn't really set out to use it but seeing as it shares the same reservoir as the window washer fluid ... plus one of the suggested fluids to use for W/M is washer fluid containing methanol ... i figured it was the logical thing to do .

Only I just got the container and one of the suggested uses is 'paint stripper ' which has me in a bit of a quandry ...............................

Don't expect much - I have only raised boost with the EBC which is only affecting boost to about 6000rpm . 6-8000 will be same as before .

Paint thinner is methanol, aka denatured alcohol, aka methyl hydrate. Same thing.

You know that little chemistry thing where water turns into a solid state at 0*C. The temperature at which methanol does that is much lower :D. The difference between the regular antifreeze and the -40*C antifreeze is the percentage of methanol.

Back when I still had my 13b and was running pure water, I forgot to drain the tank one winter and the lines and pump froze so I had to redo it lol.

my point was .... if it is used in washer fluid and it gets on the paintwork (as it is inclined to do ) , wouldn't it damage the paint ?

Considering windshield washer fluid already contains methanol, I don't think its a problem.

That's what I thought - but I had to do a bit of a double take when I saw 'paint stripper ' on the label when i'm going to be getting it on my paint.
A little bit of research and I did find some warnings about paint damage when used at high concentrations ..... like 60% , with the inference that it doesn't hurt at lower concentrations.

Couldn't resist the urge to log it Here is the load log - pretty much 200%+ from 4500 onwards . 84/16 water /methanol by mass.

Here is the virtual dyno (no CF used - would be 440 on Dynojet setting)

Maf .................. Yes I hit 5V . Will post that log over in the ME section

Also : my 3" midpipe just arrived so ............................

Looking good brettus!!
how is the wideband reacting to the W/M ?

its funny how we have the vdi closed but there is still a hickup in power there. then it takes off like 40hp in 400rpm range... unless you opened the vdi??

Dunno what is going on with the wideband - a possum killed it . Gotta get a new sensor.
