Cant see no pix eh bro
|
They show fine for me
|
Looks cool, and pricey

I'll give you an A for effort, but I still think all three ports into a single-scroll Tial snail can produce similar results and will be better overall for engine durability. It'll be an easier fitment too.

Interesting . I know Hoss fitted one to his setup which was a similar sized turbo to mine . Never heard how that turned out however . Till someone gives us some results we will never know for sure. The fact it works well on an rew is not a good indicator that it will work as well on a renesis.

Well the Precision turbo for the similar manifold that sold on ebay a while back used a similar snail, wasn't actually a Tial though or so I thought.

Ok, well nevermind then.

Perhaps ,I still believe there is more potential in the twin scroll/siamese WG concept though.Maybe one day I'll have another go at it . Pretty hard for me to justify doing that ATM.
Engine is almost ready . This will be the first time I remove a perfectly good running engine from my car just to test some ideas ... just for fun . All the changes this time are internal . will try to keep external changes to a minimum . |
Nice, looking forward to what you are cooking up :)

Cheers Slash . This recipe is def. 'outside the box' ..... as per usual ...lol

I will follow this thread with interest, it has been a really good read so far and some of the ideas have been a really different way of looking for new results. Even the parts that didn't work out. LOL :icon_tup:

Bridgeport is definitely out this time around but I picked up some really good info by doing it . |
Just spill the beans already
:) |
All the normal Fi mods I like to do :
doweling Rx7 apex seals balance rotating assy. minor porting of exhaust ports Plus three new mods that are developments of things I have already tried and hope will achieve the following: better spool up more power improved fuel consumption |
Still not spilling, lol ...

Ok well if its all top secret squirrel stuff that’s fine. I figured you wouldn’t hold out for too long though
Seems like best spool would be to have the center port flow fully to the compressor inlet and then also have the wastegate divert directly from it as opposed to the previous partial or wastegate only setups along with a Tial type housing. :dunno: Anyway looking forward to your results. |

I can't remember if you saw the improvement I got with some relatively minor port mods or if that was when you went AWHOL . Anyway, I got a 1500rpm improvement in spool from doing that (admittedly starting from what wasn't very good). I figure there is more to be gained by going down that same path. Wouldn't you do the same if you thought you were onto something ? |
Sure, I understand.

Is that new turbine wheel going to be part of this?

I am seriously considering it . I know I said I was going to leave the outer setup alone but I came across this and it seems like it would make a big improvement .... :dunno: **NEW GT35R/GTX35R 9 Blade Turbine wheel** Many Turbocharger shops around the country are hi-flowing the common Ford Falcon GT35R turbocharger, but the main issue everyone faces with high hp applications is back pressure, we have been offering many different hi-flow options with compressor wheel upgrades including 62, 63, 64, 66 & 67mm compressor wheels. These hi-flows have worked well in the past but to get more power you must change the turbine wheel, Finally after years of development we are pleased to release our 9 blade GT35R turbine wheel with fantastic results. Customers with our 67mm compressor wheel and new 9 blade turbine wheel have reported power figures of 530+rwkw @ only 20 to 22psi. Boost is also coming on nearly 1000 rpm earlier. We are also excited to have also finished our new designed GT35R- 69mm 10 blade compressor wheel, we will post some results shortly. |
