He might have been trying to insult you instead of giving you tuning tips... he does that from time to time

You were static above 6500 or so. The high EGTs happen above 6800, so you should be advancing instead of remaining static at 11° or so.

You will end up around 15° at that point, but until you are satisfied with your AFRs, keep the timing safe.

1000 kms later and STILL having hot starting issue . It will start after several seconds but used to be way better .

I'm wondering if the cold rx7 plugs are the issue - Anyone else experienced this with those plugs ?

Usually a hot-start issue is an over-rich fuel scenario.

(Provided there isn't an actual issue like a miswired injector, vacuum leak or the like.)

bugger- out goes that theory

I'm thinking over rich is most likely from those suggestions but how ?
Vac leak would show up in other areas like idle etc and i never took the plugs off the injectors except to change the p2s .

Have you verified your coils are good?

Hot start problems were my bane with the OEM coils - swapped to BHR and so far so good.

/\ - funny you should mention that . Was on the Mazsport coils before and starting was no issue
However these OEM coils seem to be handling boost no problems ....

Can you get a set of coils off someone's car for a head to head?

Or do the resistance testing - I forget how though I think it is in the service manual.

OK - found the hot start problem.
turned out to be related to the tune I put into the Powermod - I did not realise it was going to affect startup mixture - but it did .

Did some exciting upgrades with Hymee protuner over the last couple of days . Way more to this story but i'm knackered now and it's new years eve so ...... another day .

It could also be cooler/wetter or the BARO is slightly higher.
I'll see 20 - 30 g/sec variation from day to day.
At full boost, my MAF could read a maximum anywhere from 390 - 420 g/sec.
